When God decrees the end, he decrees all the means necessary to that end. The Scriptures explicitly state that Abraham's faith was imputed to him for righteousness. Paul spent a significant portion of his epistle to the Romans belaboring that fact.

Agreed, as God ordained that thru the preaching/teaching of the Gospel the Holy Spirit would use that as the means to the desired end of those to be saved to get now saved!

You are "modern" in the sense that I was using the term. The twenty first century...that is where we are, right?

You need to speak less and learn....you are spouting when you need to be in
I go back to a radical stance where I search for biblical truth......see a radical is one who moves beyond the liberal and conservative branches of an institution and goes back to a fundamental questioning ....one who goes back to the root, the source, the fundamentals. This is very different from a modernist who wants to update or accommodate to the present situation.

I understand, and I certainly did not intend "modern" in the sense of "modernist." It does seem, though, that many are heading in that direction.

If you are interested, here is a link to an article written by a Primitive Baptist elder in 1905 against the Conditional Time Salvation that was to eventually become the norm among them. There are still some who believe in Absolute Predestination, but the vast majority do not.

My understanding of their belief would be that they hold to all of the elect will be saved in heaven, but only those who accept Jesus here in this life will have the blessings associated with knowing Him in this life?
