Well, it was about a month as I recall, just that for several weeks, although I felt a drawing to walk down the aisle and accept Christ as savior, I chose not to do it. That is what I count as "resisting". Then I decided I was going to go ahead and choose God.

That is my recollection of the whole thing. It seemed to me to be a conscious choosing on my part, in spite of the "embarrasement" of being seen walking the aisle, etc.

    Dear Brother Paul,
I asked only because I had a similar experience at the age of 13.

I just think it is odd that we would even think that during that time we were resisting the Grace of God with an ability to finally reject it.

Obviously, in both our cases, and even in the case of Ed, that is not what occurred.

And at the same time, in our minds, finite understanding, we did make a 'choice'.

But we did not resist successfully and we did not make that choice without His operation upon us.

It just seems obvious that to make such an experience evidence against irresistable Grace is impossible, at least to me anyway.

Not attempting to judge or doubt anyone's testimony. Just wanted to point it out to you and Ed that neither of you are evidence of someone 'resisting the Grace of God'.

In fact, all who do provide evidence of resisting His Grace in the Effectual call are really proving particular redemption, while those who do respond and do 'make a choice' also prove that point.

    May God Bless,
    Bro. Dallas
