Arkansas has staked a claim to havng an Ivory Billed Woodpecker residing in the State, Now Texas wants one too. The the search is on in Texas for the elusive Ivory Billed Woodpecker.

    Now, really....

The article doesn't mention jealousy or anything that would imply it. Nor did I expect it to when I clicked on the link. The idea of Texas being jealous of another state is just absurd. It would be like a king being jealous of a monkey because he saw it swing by its tail.

But it's still an interesting article.

Thank you, Pipedude. That makes me feel much better.

There are 2 kinds of people in the world, Texans, and those who wish they were.

And I'm reminded of a sign posted somewhere along the border:

You are now leaving Texas. How could you?!

    That's a squeaker right there.

In any event, both were much better governors than they were/are presidents.

    Never tried it...maybe.

We've got a stupid one that lives outside my house during the summer/fall months. It can often be heard and seen pecking at the top of the metal light pole next to the street. You'd think his bill would be worn down to a nub by now, but he keeps coming back every year to peck some more.
