Don't think the rugby was on the tube--or else I was busy watching sumo or judo. :D

When people in church circles here in Ghana think Thanksgiving they think, fundraising! Most churches uses this to send cards out with all their members to raise a huge amount of money for some project usually. The only turkeys are those that are guilted into giving!

    Mike, that's sad.

Does Ghana have its own Thanksgiving, or an American clone, or something else?

No, John, they have many holidays from various and sundry cultures. For years they had a relationship with communist countries so thyey adopted some of their holidays. Ghana is truly a pluralistic culture. They do not celebrate a Thanksgiving as such. They call it Harvest Offering time in churches.

There is nothing at all in the Irish culture similar to Thanksgiving.

There is Harvest Sunday which in the Protestant churches at least serves to give thanks for God's provision.

Nothing like Thanksgiving in Mexico either.

BTW, did you all see the Dallas-Denver game? I am so thankful that I got to watch it, it was a good game.

We had 7 here for the meal. Most folks are out working since it is not a holiday here.

Ah yes, in the North, but the COI churches here are VERY small and their Harvest Day is not much better known than our Thanksgiving.

In the culture as a whole, as you know, there is nothing similar.

Thanks Mexdef, but we ended up having company all day so "had to be" sociable ;) and didn't get to play the game.

I was happy with the real game though. I had borrowed Drew Bledsoe for my fantasy football team and he had a decent game.

That's ironic. I have Drew on my FF team also. It's a great way to get your mind off the stress of the field. My wife crochets and I do FF and Fantasy NASCAR. My hobby costs less, ha.

I only borrowed him when I lost NcNabb and Rothlesberger (my back-up). I may have to give him back. Our family and freinds league (14 teams) is out of QBs so I may be in trouble.

Wait, this isn't the sports forum [IMG] .

Thanks for the prayers pastor sbc!

Without you faithful pastors and churches holding the ropes we could not be here on the field.

It is a privilege to be entrusted with the gospel on the foreign field. Thanks for praying and giving.
