The Average American Today and on the Eve of World War I

    That was interesting. Thanks for posting it.

    True to the article, my grandmother was 19 years old in 1917 and had just gotten married. Like the article says she lived on a farm outside a town of less than 2,500 people. She gave birth to all her children at home. However, she was far above average when it came to a life expectancy of 49 years old; she lived to be 100 years old. My mom just turned 96. It's so weird to think my Mom was a teenager when WWII started in Europe.
