Although I don`t comment much lately, Charles, I try to read all your posts. I am not living at home this past 6 weeks and probably not for a while as my sister is seriously ill and I am staying at her house. I get in here from time to time only, and am being helped greatly by your writings.

    Exodus 36

And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. (Exodus 36:5-6)

Can you imagine this? How many religious leaders of any sort, how many pastors since this happened has had to plead with their flock to stop giving! When have you heard “The Church coffers are too full! We have too much!” No, I don’t think what we see here has been duplicated since. It would be nice if it were true today.
But we must be careful here. God has said that He will never leave us, or forsake us. He did say to try Him in giving, that He will bless us. However, God does not promise to make anyone rich in this worlds wealth, all of which is passing away. No, God is not a cash register, but He is faithful to His Word.

    Bin Laden

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? (Ezekiel 33:11)
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:31)
Because of the announcement last night by the President that America’s most sought terrorist Osama Bin Laden has been killed, I feel as though I should devote this devotional today to this event. God, in these passages, and in many others, shows how He feels about the death of those that are lost. It is easy to say at this point that this man was the worst sinner on the planet, but, we are all sinners in God’s sight and deserve His judgement just as much as this man. The only real difference is that (if I speak to blood-washed, born again believers in the finished work of Christ) is that we have come to God His way, the way that God has given us, and this man did not. What I just said is the matter of contention isn’t it? However, if true (and it is) we Christians would do the world (not to mention dishonoring our Lord) a grave disservice to say that we are all going to the same place, we are simply taking different ways to God. While it is certain that Mr. Bin Laden is reaping what he has sowed, and very few of us will mourn for him, nor do I deny that justice has been served, let us realize the heart of God as he has expressed in his word: God has no pleasure in this, neither should we.

    A Difficult Post

Truly this was one on my most difficult posts I have made on here.
If you will note the debate in other places here, you walk a fine line between sounding like you are being "unchristian" on one hand, and supporting a terrorist on the other.
God has established government to mete out justice that He delights in.
This was not a man that slapped someone on the cheek; he was a mass murderer and what happened to him was just. But, it is also true that while God is just, He is also love and He makes it clear that He would have everyone to be saved.

    Charles,

You are so right. It is easy for us to judge yet we must be reminded that we are all sinners and our salvation comes from the Lord.

    Blessings

I hope Charles will soon be able to post here again. In the absence of his posts I have gone back to page one of this thread.

    Exodus 37

And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it: (Exodus 37:1)
Well, what I think of here is: Where is the ark of the covenant now?
In Revelation John said in 11:19 that he saw the Ark of His Testament (the marginal note is covenant) in heaven. Is this one and the same that is being built here? Did John see an original built by God Himself in heaven? Was the ark that we see being built here, that we will see for most of the Old Testament, taken by God to Heaven? Is it still there somewhere on the temple mount? Was it taken to Ethiopia, as has been said? Or, was it simply destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.? I don't know and neither does anyone else. What is important for us now is that the Lord Jesus is our propitiation, same as mercy seat. Israel met God at the mercy seat, and we all meet Him through Christ Jesus our Lord.
