That's just the point: the seeker sensitive/emergent movements are not preaching the Gospel. They're preaching inclusivism.

And you get the "inclusivistic" preaching from:

Or are these more words I'm cramming in your mouth?

    No, no they're not.

(Well not the vast majority...I'm certain there is one or two out there but you can't condemn an entire movement on one or two. I know plenty of traditional, whatever that means, churches that preach radical inclusivism.)

Seriously go and listen to some of these men of God and show me where they say there is more than one way to Heaven and the you can be saved without having to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord.

    What a sad, maligning statement.

Actually, they are. That's exactly what they're preaching.

Tony Campolo and the rest of the emergents are notorious for teaching "anonymous Christianity".

Go to wotmradio.com and look for the interview they did with Tony Campolo. That's a perfect example.

It's sad, but it also happens to be true.

Yes, those are more words you are dishonestly putting in my mouth.

Here is another lovely opportunity for you to clarify.....don't mess it up this time!

By taking statements made in one context and dishonestly applying them to another subject, that is putting words in my mouth.

None of what I said had anything to do with inclusivism, as you claim that I mean them.

I didn't mess it up last time.

The context of the OP, which is what your replies were about, is the styles and appearances of church. For example, the things you mentioned. You then equated that with churches preaching an inclusivistic gospel.

Worse yet...you won't even clarify...but throw out insults as if we were in grade school. So just clarify what you were talking about...because the context of the OP is the appearances of churches. So have you gone off topic now?

No, I never equated them with churches preaching an inclusivistic gospel.

My comments about inclusivity came several pages after the quotes you're trying to tie them to.

I've "clarified" them for you several times now. You then went and had a similar exchange with another poster, so it isn't me.

I've already clarified what I was talking about.

I think that a church can be "ccol" and still faithful to the teaching of the bible. But I think most of all a church needs to be welcoming, I know so many people who stopped going to church b/c they felt like they had nothing good enough to wear. My friend actually would not go one Sunday, b/c her dress was at the cleaners and she refused to wear slacks or a skirt (it was knee length). In my opinion it is more important to God that you come, not what you come wearing (of course use common sense and etiquette when dressing for church, but you shouldn't deny yourself being there just b/c of it.

a church that maintains it's integrity and still make each person feel welcomed in my opinion is "cool".

Dan, he has a chip on his shoulder. You should probably drop it now unless you want PM's throwing the f-bomb around among other filth not suited for any Christian board (or from any professing believer). Put him on ignore like I did, it will save you much aggravation. It's amazing someone can do something like that, and then participate in ANY thread dealing with worship.

    Beware the wolves!

    Cool is LUKEwarm

To be cool is to be lukewarm, and we know lukewarm believers will be "spit" from the mouth of God!

Get "hot" church, or, stay "cold", but please avoid lukewarm/cool...it is nothing more than spit-um!

I think we should be careful to recognize that a church can do innovative things, and be spiritually dead.

Or......a church can do innovative things, and be on fire for God.

One is not necesarily tied to another.

    Repent ye sinners!

    Foreswear your Starbucks!

Lay aside your sinful PowerPoint.

    Permit not youthful exuberance.

This thread should have been posted in the Fundamental forum.
    You'd get more AMENs

Get real! Eyes are opened to salvation through many different means !!!!
Every church is different ... and should be.

Personally, I turned to God when another teen invited me to a hip, Young Life group over 30 years ago.

    It was cool, man.

It's a lame attempt at sarcasm on my part.

Perhaps we should do church like Jesus, on a hillside

...and serve fish and chips.
