Thats great, Thankful!!! Dont you feel so much better?

I am trying to celebrate the small victories as well. Friday night, we ate with friends and I did eat a little bit of illegal stuff. But when we left their house, I was back on track and didnt fall completely off the wagon like I usually do. Now I WANTED to, but this time I didnt. And Saturday, we had 3 dozen doughnuts in this house!!! I only ate ZERO!!!!! [IMG] So those were two small victories I celebrated. I need to stay away from the old bad eating habits that creep back in so easily.

I have lost 5 pounds and Ed has lost 5 pounds. Can we count it as 10 pounds? [IMG]

We are really struggling. We do weigh every day. That works better for me. Oh yes, I feel better, but I will feel much better when about 20 more pounds are gone. Right now I am hungry. I have not had breakfast so I'm going to have some yogurt.

Have a great day and watch those calories, carbs, or whatever you do. I'm counting calories and Ed is counting Carbs.

Congratulations Thankful!! It will come, and truly, the slower the better.

I had a small victory last night - I was in the McDonalds drive thru getting the girls some supper and was sooo hungry. I almost ordered a real meal on a whim, but I resisted and just got a meat patty.

But if its not one thing, its another...today is bake sale at school :( So far so good.

Well, y'all, I've been battling 4 lbs. from the holidays. I have been trying to get those off so I could be back at my "perfect" weight. lol Being petite doesn't help much either. lol And since I have so little too lose they are taking their time coming off!

Anyway, 2 situations happened that I know, I know I took too personally.

I saw a lady at Walmart a few days ago who used to work in the same office suite as I. Well, she was always commenting on what I was eating--I nicknamed her "Carbzilla" b/c she didn't think we should be eating carbs at all--good or bad--she usually made her comments when I was eating an apple!. Many times I wanted to tell her, "Lady, I weigh 106 lbs., my bp is 111/70, my resting pulse is under 70, my cholesterol is 149, my body fat % is 22. Do I look like I need to lose weight?" But I held my tongue. I happen to feel that my weight and what I eat to be a personal thing.

Anyway, she caught me in the ice cream aisle--I very, very rarely go to that aisle, but I wanted a low-cal fudge bar for after dinner treats. I told her what I was looking for and she became very interested. lol

Then, I have a friend at church who's about 2 inches taller than I. She has lost 20 lbs. on the Suzanne Somers thing--I couldn't do that b/c you aren't allowed bananas or oranges--how she gets her potassium is beyond me. lol Anyway, she said she had some clothes in her closet that were too big for her and would I like to have them. She told me what size they were--I wore those sizes when I was 30 lbs. heavier! She seemed surprised that we wear the same size. Hmmm. guess that means I need to get new clothes that are more fitted. lol

I feel silly for venting that but I've been thinking about that all week. lol

But on another note, I tried a new strategy. Should have thought of it sooner. Sat. I bought the lo-cal fudge bars like I said. Last night we went to a boy scout dinner--potluck--lots of decadent food and desserts. Before I went, I told myself, "You have dessert waiting for you at home." So, I ate very wisely and didn't even look at the dessert table. When I got home I ate my ice cream bar and felt pretty good--not drugged like I usually do when I eat too much sugar.

I'll get these last pounds off soon, I hope. I'm working really hard and getting back on track w/my eating and I've bumped up my exercise intensity level.

Thanks for letting me whine! lol

    Take care.

    Linda

Sounds like you are doing well. I hate it too when people seem surprised at what size I wear. (12) Its none of their business anyway. You keep wearing what you feel you look best in. [IMG]

Linda, people sometimes do not see themselves and the friend who thought that she is smaller than you... that is really what she thinks. People have always thought that I wore sizes larger than I or rather did when I was thin.

I have now lost 7 pounds, but it is beginning to be so difficult.

One of the ladies that has been making remarks about my weight (she is overweight also) brought chocolate candy to our Sunday School Class. Well, one piece of candy will not hurt, but I don't like eating candy that early in the morning. She said, something about my will power. Maybe it was a compliment. [IMG]

Thankful, I think she does see me that way. lol I don't really mind. I know what I do to take care of myself. It was just kind of funny how she put it. lol But I do know that I am probably wider than she in the hips--but I can't reduce my hip bones! lol

Like I said, my health is my business. When I see someone on a "diet" eating a cookie I don't remark--it's their choice and maybe they've worked out or "saved up" that day for that treat. I'm not the diet police. lol

Good on ya, Thankful for the 7 lbs. lost! lol I guess there will always be people who think it's their business what we weigh. lol I used to go to my Weight Watchers meetings and get the evil eye b/c I was thin. They didn't realize that 6 months earlier I was 30 lbs. heavier.

What I have realized in my "old age" is that my body is simply a storage place for what's on the inside. Yes, I need to take care of it, but my spiritual health needs to come first.

Take care. I'm done whining for now! lol

I have finally made back on track for a period of days in a row. I am hoping to stay strong for an extended period of time.

Its hard, but I have to get my mindset back in line.

That's great. I am gonna try and follow suit.

I just havent been able to get remotivated. I did a good 2 weeks recently and after the initial water loss, I lost nothing. Good clean induction, too. So I got mad and ate, lol. Thats a real mature way to handle it! [IMG]

But, I am gonna try again.

I had one of those small victories today. My wife called and asked me to bring her home a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds on my way home for lunch. Man in that drive thru line the fries and stuff smelled so good. But I held strong and left with only her chicken sandwich. Of course my wife has informed McDonald's they are only allowed to serve me burgers with no buns and coffee, but that is beside the point [IMG]
