    It took both parties working hard to steer us here but they'll all be pointing their fingers at the other side when the ship of state goes over the edge.

    Why wouldn't Obama point fingers at the Republican party in general?

    That seems to be source of the resistance to an effective response.

    This goes far deeper in US politics that a "battle" that's making headline news around the world.

    IMO, a better way to look at what's happening, in a general sense, is to compare the resistance used when satan tempted those in the wilderness to make an "effective response".
