Your rationale is incorrect. After the flood God dispersed the people throughout the earth and gave them different languages. [Read Genesis 11ff.] It is obvious to rational thinking that the memory of tales of the flood would have lasted much longer than memory of Noah

However, the biggest problem with your post is that it disputes the Bible.

Noah lived to be 950 years old. He was about 600 when the flood came and it is entirely possible he fathered many children long after the flood. So did his sons and their wives.

It there were only his three sons and assuming that their wives had one child each year, then in 25 years they could number over 3,000. This would turn into another 35 or 36 thousand in another ten years. How long would it take to populate the earth???

Since the people were so scattered, it is quite possible that hundreds of years later the story of the flood had mutated into several different stories with different things happening.

However if we are to believe God's word, we must believe it happened as it is written and if you have ever been to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Cannon and similar places in this country, you would have no doubt it was a great deal of water that caused those large holes in the earth. In addition if you have flown over the entire world as I have, many times, you would be able to see signs of a great flood from the air quite easily. Of course you won't read about anything like that from the secular media but it's true.

You must remember that most of the water came out of the earth and the many mountains we have today were pushed up from below when the waters covered the earth and receded.. Some of our largest mountains, larger than any we have visible on earth are under water in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

There was a global flood—God makes sure we know about that!
