Te Deum laudamus!: The Golden Compass: Agenda Unmasked

If this movie is going to make atheists out of your children, then people of every denomination need to beware of it.

    Anyone else?

If this movie will make our kids into atheists, does watching "Herbie" turn them into a Volkswagen? Sheesh!

Once again, people getting their panties in a wad over something not yet released, and that they have not seen.

Unfortunately, some people are persuaded easily. Look at Eve.

Satan uses any and everything to turn you away from God.

Normally, I'd agree with you if this were just a movie... but these movies are adaptations of books that are already in print.

I am told, from very reliable sources (one an Orthodox Christian and the other a Catholic Christian who don't have much use for hysteria over books and films), that there is an anti-theistic agenda in the books which becomes clearer the farther you go in the series.

Still, I don't think the proper response is to picket movies theatres, get on television and give the movies promotion by condemning them, or get worked up into a lather about popular media. Instead, we should work to extend our ministries, speak carefully, fairly, accurately and soberly about the series, and tell people why Pullman's perspective is erroneous.
