Amen Tim. Great example too. May God give us the grace to declare the Gospel pure and simple in America, South America, Europe or were ever God has placed His children. And may we remember that we are citizens of a heavenly nation before we are citizens of an earthly nation.

Well, I must say that the US constitution and the declaration of Independence that was based on principles that the founding fathers of the Nation held to be of preeminant importance. Liberty that is endowed by God to Man as a natural state. This is a principle that they found expressed in the bible and so transfered that principle to the founding documents of our country. Like the right to property the ability an means to defend one self is another. So the US principly at is root hold values in common with the bible. Nothing wrong with that. They founding fathers also extended that to their economic point of view adapting Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations type Capatalism into the mix beause at it heart it meant liberty. Now if the nation acts in ways contrary to the founding documents then it is on a precipice where there is no return because it invalidates the founding documents and the principles of founding which correlate to some (not all) scripture. The US was not established as a theocracy but a nation of Liberty. America and God's directionality only intersect where they agree. The problem is that modern americans often don't understand the founding of their own nation nor of Gods plan. Things that are considered americanism often are captalism and have nothing to do with liberty. Capatalism was used because it is based in Liberty but american nor the world practaces true capatlism. So probably the issues most have in american Marketing and how that permeates our lives even church and that can be the problem. I have problems with this when we start treating our churches like for profit board rooms. Or a better marketing campaign to reach and evangelize the lost that waters down or even makes hypocrites of us all. These are issues. The amassing of wealth for our pleasure is another. But these issues aren't distinctly american they are world wide. We just happen to be at the top of the food chain and stand out.
