The Gospels as Passion Narrarives

    I heard a comment the other day that I thought interesting. The comment was:

    Many believe the gospels are biographies of Jesus. They are not. They are passion {Christ's passion} narratives with long introductions. For instance one-third of Mark deals with the last week of the life of Jesus on earth.

    The gospels tell us almost nothing about Christ's childhood, nothing about his teenage years, very little of what would be included in a modern biography.

    What is your opinon?
