    it is said:

The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan

Another integrating theme in Ellen White's writings is that of the great controversy, or struggle, between Christ and Satan. Ellen White emphasizes repeatedly that the focal point of the great controversy is Satan's aim to misrepresent the loving character of God--to portray God's law of love as an arbitrary law of selfishness. God's demonstration of His love in the ongoing conflict with Satan forms the focus of her five-volume Conflict of the Ages Series. The foremost demonstration of God's love was the sending of His Son Jesus Christ, who came not only to die for the human race, but to portray God's character of love in the face of Satan's accusations.

    That sumarizes this book.
I've not read it all, but have read many portions.

Ellen White was the main documenter of the beliefs of
Christian Science, one of the pseudo-Christian organizations.

IMHO: A modern book describing Christian Science would be a
    better (and more informative) read.

Mary Baker Eddy was the Christian Science heretick. Ellen G White is the 7th Day Adventist heretick.

    They're easy to confuse.

It covers the War in heaven - the dark ages following the fall of Jerusalem, the Protestant reformation, the end of the world, the thousand years and the great White Throne Judgment.

I can not think of why anyone would have mailed it to you if you are not already an Adventist.

    In Christ,

    Bob

My copy of Mrs. E.G.White's THE GREAT CONTROVERSY,
Between Christ and Satan, During the Christian Dispensation
(Review and Herald Publishing Assn, 1907) came to me in the
early 1960s. It is marked in Pencil by my grandfather:
"Coalgate Oklahoma, Oct 1911, Ed Edwards".

Ok - it just seems funny to me that there are people out there doing that. I have the book - but I am also Adventist so it makes perfect sense to me - since I already find the Bible basis for the doctrines to be solid.

I don't see how acceptance of that book is remotely possible without first doing the doctrinal validation "sola scriptura".

    In Christ,

    Bob
