    Simple enough.

Your thoughts? I only put 5 choices up, so pick as close as you can or pick other and explain.

I thought is was terrible considering the setting, the occasion. It was full of rhetoric. He seemed confused and unfocused. He dealt with nothing. He seemed to forget that he already won the election and was still attacking his opponent.

He had his big chance to say something brilliant, but he totally blew it. It sounded more like "I'm better than the other guys and I'm glad they are gone." I saw and heard no humility whatsoever, no real wisdom, and no substance.

I voted other because I didn't watch his inuguration speech. For about two weeks straight, the tv has been talking about a historic event. I have been so sick & tired of hearing it that I just decided to watch Discovery Channel or A&E during the time of the inauguration.

I'm pretty certain though it was the same old song & dance from him. I know he's liberal, our taxes will go up, more innocent unborn children will die, & more restrictions will be put on our rights as individuals. Am I right or am I right?

I voted "Other." Didn't listen to it and turned off the radio anytime I heard anyone discussing it or him.

He hasn't won the 2012 election yet. And whoever the Republican candidate is will be clepped "another Bush."

I didn't vote in the poll because I didnt'-- that is refused-- to watch any of the proceedings.

Why has no one criticized him for his warlike "we will defeat you" statement? They criticized Bush when he said things like this.

I keep repeating this, but just so you know, I am not a Bush supporter.

He hedged his words somewhat to outline his socialist vision for America, but outline it he did.

As he always does for those that care to listen.

I said "Good, Solid, Appropriate". He said some very good things especially how we will begin to use diplomacy instead of all military solutions. He also seem to say something that were so deep some of the commentators are just understanding what he really meant.

What he didn't have was that memorable one liner like Reagan saying Government is the problem.

I think his speech was appropriate since it stated the direction he was taking the country and it was only about 20 min...

I don't recall anyone criticizing Bush for saying we'll defeat you. In fact, he got good popularity numbers when he said that after 9/11. Where Bush went wrong was when he expanded the war into Iraq. We had no reason to kill sadaam and he had no exit strategy.

So are you okay with his plans to increase military spending and presence in Afghanistan?

It was what the country needed to hear.

He could have borrowed "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." Perhaps he should have worked that into his speech.

My first reaction was, wow...another pep talk. Then I began to realize...whether he is doing this on purpose, or its just his way, doesn't matter, he is seeking to restore confidence and hope the American people. This needs to happen.

I don't think McCain could have done this. I think of the canidates we have available to us, Obama is probably the only one with the charisma to do it.

Don't take this as though I am in the Obama camp. I am not. But I do see the Providence of God in this.

Just my unpopular .2 cents (it's point two for deflation, soon, I will to pony up 4 cents to compensate for inflation)

Sorry, wasn't on much today. Yes, I am ok with increasing military spending and presence in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is where the terrorist are and is the first place Bush went after 9/11. Had we of kept our focus there and committed all the resources to that one war I believe our troops would be home today.

However, the cards we have are the cards we have. We still have a threat in the Afghanistan region and we are loosing ground. We must increase our presence or we will loose that area to the bad guys.

Along with this increase I hope the new administration set's a clear objective so we can know where we stand and when we reach victory. There is no way we can kill all the terrorist (short of the bomb) so we must have an understanding of when we can bring the troops home.
