Does the word "lobby" have anything to do with the 501c3 churches silence? Who decides what can be considered "lobbying"? Isn't it the IRS? I call that gagged.

I'm pretty sure come next April we'll go to Sunday worship and hear the standard "give unto Ceaser sermon" week before "tax day" same as this past April. Now, why is this? I think the churches have gagged themselves and put some "legal fiction" (a corporation) IRS, US government. Over the Lord Jesus Christ in His Church, and yoked themselves to a worldly system.

Since this church doesn't lobby for anything, we don't have that issue. What church preaches a tax day sermon??? How ludicrous.

If churches stick to preaching the word of God, they don't have these issues. IT is simple.

In one church I pastored we took a public high school to task for one of the teachers requiring a book that was of poor taste. She claimed it was a part of the American culture. We expressed so was pornography and that was not acceptable. Not one other church in our association would stand with us. So we took it to the media and got instant results from the school. The media interviewed someone from the church as a news story while the other chruches stood by and watched. It is not the government thta is the problem it is the churches that are weak and afraid to stand with Jesus. It is true humility when we make ourselves God's servants.

Why was the church doing that? Why weren't the parents?

A number of the parents were not Christians. I found out through a letter that wws given to the school administration with zero results. It was a parent from another church that contacted me in an effort to solicitate the help of the churches.

It is the church's business to stand for righteousnes not to roll over and play dead. If we expect churches to be strong then we as leaders must lead. That means the senior pastor takes the iniative.

I agree with Pastor Larry. That it began to give Church's seperation from the state. It's strange though. This country was founded on "religious freedom", yet they all believed in "ONE" God. They all held that belief dear. Now you have people who are so angry with God, spiteful and resentful, they want to take GOD out of anything. I personally believe that a person who is an "Athiest". .. Believe's in God, they just don't want to admit it to themselves. I personally pray for them. I'm sorry if this post is off topic.

I would argue that the church's business is to preach the gospel. I am not sure that getting involved in school squabbles is the job of hte church. The parents certainly should get involved and make a big deal about it ... I just am not sure about the church getting involved in that ... would have to think about it.
