    Every now and then, pa-rum-pum-pum-pum.
We get to see this thread, pa-rum-pum-pum-pum.
Until this horse is dead, pa-rum-pum-pum-pum,
    rum-pum-pum-pum, rum-pum-pum-pum.
This does not honor Him, pa-rum-pum-pum-pum.
    Debates about drums.

At the risk of keeping this thread alive, Joshua Rhodes, I nominate you for a Grammy in songwriting. Something along the lines of "Best BB Version of Wierd Al." :applause:

This isn't about drums, it's about the paganism in the message.

What a stretch! Pagan religions deal with the earth. What do drums have to do with that?

The Little Drummer Boy is not a pagan song. The little Drummer Boy used his God given gift to play the drums to bless Jesus.

He accepts everything we can give him even our unfit bodies.... as worship...

    Rom 12:1
    NIV

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual
    [1] act of worship.

    Rom 12:1 (The Message)
    (1)
So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life--your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life--and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Okay if I kill a chicken and offer that?

And maybe a side of mashed potatoes and gravy?

I know some people who bury statues in their yard "as an act of devotion." Does he accept that?

How about if the kid just turns on a drum machine and lets it run for a while? Does he still get credit since he did it for Jesus? Or does he need a whole band before the benefits accrue?

Seems to me that that would work at least as well as the people who leave candles burning in front of statues. Does God accept that?

    Merry Christmas to all.

Amen! It's not like the little drummer boy was trying to find an alternate way into heaven by practicing his best works. He was playing his drum, the only gift from the heart that he had to give. ALthough there was most likely no little drummer boy who played for the baby Jesus, it is a figurative idea of what might have happened had someone like any one of us been given an early audience with the Almighty God come to earth. The important thing is, the little drummer boy recognized to whom he gave the only gift he had. And he probably wasn't a Calvinist. ;)

I doubt it. As long as there is some fictional outrageously wicked little pagan boy who commits as great a sin as playing a drum, we won't be short here of club swingers and machine gunners who don't hit the target because it's not even there to hit.
