I think this is a good way to handle this and have seen this done as well. When someone clearly has a strong need and/or has experienced something devastating, stop and pray for them immediately. It is very caring and comforting for the person who is suffering.

This is not placing animals in the same category as people or making them equal to people. It is rather seeing each person's request as meaningful and something to take to the Lord.

Taking prayer requests honors the person asking for prayer; what they ask for is not something we should judge. The requests are for prayer to God, not for you to care about. If you do care, then that's great; if not, then you let the Lord deal with it.

The craziest prayer request I ever heard was when I was a teen.. and someone requested that Bo and Hope (Days of our lives soap opera) would get together!

Yes, there has been much division here. Which is typical of too many churches now-a-days.

To whom, I wonder, can we attribute this confusion to?

This isn't a church. If it was I'd have to practice tertiary separation.

Sad. That means the bible I've referred to, you are against and also makes you schizmatic. Emotionalism does that to people: emotional over animals and such. Sad. People and the course of life they're in at the time are important to me and even more important to the Lord.

Paul, my profession after 10 years of animal control has been 13 years as a telecommunications officer. I have dealt with every kind of person there is....and animal fanatics are part of the bunch. We have people who see a 30 yr old horse and demand that we do something about the condition of the animal. They don't know that 30 yr old horses look as old as they are. :tongue3: and the horseowner gets irate for good reason.....nosey people that need to find something better to do with their time.

I say that to point out that there are some people here that apparently think animals are as important as people. You and I won't change their "animal ethics", and speaking of animals and animal stories....“Never argue with a pig, it just frustrates you and annoys the pig.”

    nuff said.

No one here has said an animal is as important as a person. You're missing the point. What we've said is that every prayer request is important to God and we should not judge it.

No dear, you are missing the point...I never said one prayer request is more important to God than another....I said, as humans, we must prioritize or we will be sitting at church all night and the next day.

But Mexdeaf, You said, "This isn't a church. If it was I'd have to practice tertiary separation."

Have you considered, Mt 18:20, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

I think the Lord could read this forum should he so desire? Don't you agree?

But you are not God; God does not give us a list of priorities for prayer requests. We should respect every prayer request. We have no cap on prayer requests at my church and we don't sit there all night and all day.

And what if God does want you to sit there all night and all day? Maybe it would be a good thing.

    PS, I'm not your "dear."

Matt. 18:20 is in the context of church discipline.

it's you who do not beleive in the bible, God says cast all your cares on Him, and you don't beleive it, you've been arguing against it, telling us plainly God doens't care enough to want to hear from us.
