So then, if we've moved from law to grace, shouldn't we demonstrate God's grace to sinners?

I have done so. I have stoned no one. That does not mean that I sit around and let perverts take over. You can if you want to, but I will STAND AGAINST IT.

So then, if we've moved from law to grace, shouldn't we demonstrate God's grace to sinners? </font>
you stepped in it that time, the answer is no we dont give grace, only God gives the grace that is needed to sinners. ( note that it is sinners He gives grace to and those are the people who see themselves as sinners and in need of grace, but those who do not see their own sin are self righteous, and remember Jesus said it is sinners who need Him.

Mat 9:13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Then where is the grace in your words? Remember, Jesus said that what comes out of your mouth is an indication of what's in your heart.

I didn't step in anything. I think you misread my post. I never said that we were to mete out saving grace. I said that we were supposed to demonstrate the grace that God showed us while we were yet sinners.

Liberal nightmare:

2003 - anti-sodomy law reaffirmed
2009 - 99.99% of American bedrooms monitored by vidio
2010 - anti-prayer laws passed (bedroom is a public
place, you can't pray in a bedroom)
2011 - Christians start dying for praying in public bedrooms

Conservative nightmare:

2003 - anti-sodomy law anulled
2009 - sodomy made mandatory
2010 - failing to sodomize a capital offence
2011 - Christians start dying for
unAmerican activities (failure to sodomize)

Moderate nightmare:

The liberals and conservatives steal yet
another topic :(

I suppose the AIDS epidemic that has been around for the past 25 years hasn't claimed a single innocent victim. Don't forget it was gay men who brought this disease on to the rest of mankind. </font>
Give me a break. AIDS is hardly limited to homosexuality: in fact, in Africa, where the disease is most rampant, it definitely isn't homosexuality that causes the disease to propagate. It is, as Joshua said, promiscuity. And I'd like to see your proof that gay men brought this disease to everyone.

The condemnation of homosexuality in the bible is archaic today, just as the ban on eating pork is. I defy you to give me a logical argument against homosexuality. Surely, if God prohibits it, he does not do so arbitrarily, but does so with a firm logical and moral basis. I don't see any here. Homosexuality does not harm anyone, and thus must not be considered immoral.

Romans 1:[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Jude[7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

[8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Say what? Government should stay out of the issue but homosexuality is certainly clearly stated as immoral in both the Old and New Testaments. God's moral law goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden and has never changed.

This is difficult, I am a supporter of individual liberty and these laws are really unenforcable. On the other hand, what are we continuing to say to God? If America continues in this downward slope that we do not care about how God feels about an issue, will God answer requests to bless America? This greatly concerns me.

This is where the church comes in... Instead of trying to get the government to change the external actions of people who don't know God, the church should fulfill its mission and make disciples of all nations -- turning hearts toward God.

I am deeply troubled by not only by what the supreme court did but also how members of this board have responded.

It is amazing to me that anyone who calls himself a Christian can say that what homosexuals do "in the privacy of their own homes" has nothing to do with us.

Sometimes private behavior affects society as a whole.

Hey if it is between consenting people its ok right?

If a 25 year old wants to have sex with a 12 year old in the privacy of his own home and she consents that ok right?

If someone wants to be married to 12 women in the privacy of his own home thats ok too right?

If a man or women wants to sell their bodies in the privacy of their own home who are we to say anything right?

It is a fact that aids is spread primarily through homosexual or other kinds of deviant sex.

When a man goes to a prostitute in the privacy of her own home and then brings a disease home to his wife thats none of our business right?

When you say it does not matter what happens between consenting people in the privacy of their own homes you open a big-huge can of worms.

Just looking at this thread, the words of Jesus, as written in the Bible, are being proven true again.

The time grows very short. Choose today whom you will serve.

God did away with the dietary laws as recorded in the book of Acts chapter 10 when Peter was given that vision on the rooftop in Joppa.

God re-iterated that homosexuality is abomination and WILL BE JUDGED as noted above.

Do you really not know the difference between hmosexuality and pedophelia?

Bigamy is illegal. If he wants to shack up with 12 women, that's up to him, although it's all most of us can do to put up with one.

Right. Prostitution should be legalized.

If you were to pick up a woman in a bar and take her home, that's fine. But if you pick up a woman and pay her to let you take her home, that's illegal?

Then don't have "homosexual or other kinds of devian sex".

No, it's not. It's between the man and his wife and their divorce lawyers.

Not nearly as big as the one you open when you invite Big Brother into our homes.

The truth is, our country was founded on the pronciple that we should be left alone to live our own lives.

The ONLY Biblically sanctioned sexuality occurs between a husband and a wife in the holy marital bed (Hebrews 13: 4). Jailminisiter's alarm is not irrational.

Homosexuality is NOT the exclusive issue in the court's ruling. The real issue overall is PRE-Marital sexual relations. The Court's ruling will have an effect on heterosexual relations too.

While we certainly are blessed to have the Constitution (and the Court) to protect our rights, we are FAR more blessed to have the inerrant Bible to protect our eternal rights. The husband/wife marriage is the institution that should be protected first. Unfortunately, the court's ruling, as I see it, could have the effect of undermining an already shaky marital record that is tragically laden with divorce, adultery, and every other manner of family destruction.

The real problem with the ruling is the potential it has for encouraging pre-marital sexual relations (as I believe this ruling will do). It is possible that the ruling could have the effect of minimizing future marriages, destroying existing marriages, and encouraging behavior that is best left for the marriage bed ONLY (what occurs between a husband and wife sexually is entirely decent).

Last thought; no matter where you stand on the "legalities" or "constitutional" theories of this issue, it should be obvious to most Christians that sexuality in the MARRIAGE BED only is where we should all draw our position on this subject (Heb. 13: 4). latterrain77
