As I was preparing to preach a message in the book of Jude this past week I ran across a commentator that said that Jude was the most neglected book in the Bible.

I found that interesting. The more I got to thinking about it, I think he may be right. I had never preached a message on Jude. Never led a Bible study on Jude. And as far as I can tell from all of my sermon notes I have never heard a message on Jude.

    What do you think?

I have two more for you. The books of Lamentations and the Song of Solomon. When is the last time you heard a sermon from those?

I had a great time leading a Bible Study several years ago through Zephaniah. Had never heard it preached or led before. It's pretty much judgment for 2 1/2 chapters and then the end of the third chapter is mercy and grace. A great study that we spent for a month. But no, I've not heard Jude preached in that I can recall.

Jude is terrinly neglected. I preached through it years ago was amazed at the depth.

I also have a few messages on Lamentations. Nothing on Song of Solomon though.

I would go with the Song of Solomon, I have personally preached on Jude many times in the last 25 years. Still scared to approach Song of Solomon (maybe because I cant carry a tune in a bucket) [IMG] :D [IMG]

Went through the Song of Solomon with the video study by Pastor Tommy Nelson several years ago. It's wonderful, I highly recommend it.

I'm gonna be a daddy! Pray for us, it's our first!

I think Philemon is one of the most neglected. I've heard Lamentations, Song of Solomon, and Jude referred to many times in Bible studies and sermons, but rarely Philemon. Also Zephaniah, as Joshua points out.

I think you may be right. I'd add to that Song of Solomon. Some pastors refrain from usng the bulk of it because of its sensual, and in some places, erotic, content. But it's a wonderful inspirationa read, imo

I just taught thru Jude as well. I think we shy away from SOS, too. But its beautiful, and instead of being afraid to discuss it (and even admit what images are actually there  ) we should realize that it is there for a reason, too.

    I think Leviticus is one.

I love the Minor Prophets, and I have preached many messages from them. I have preached a recent series on Haggai, Jonah, and Malachi as well as messages from Amos, Micah and Habakkuk.

Obviously don't know your personal situation, but "Charge That To My Account"- in book form treats this very well. That message (and book) by the late Dr. H. A. Ironside should be read by all. And I don't often recommend many books.

Praise God Joshua, you are in our prayers. May the Lord bring your first born to you without any problems and may your firstborn be used of the Lord in a great way in His Kingdom.
