Poll: NFL Is No Longer America's Favorite Sport

Professional football is no longer viewed as America’s favorite sport as the NFL wanes in popularity due to the NFL players’ national anthem protests, according to a new poll.

The Winston Group, a right-leaning polling firm, found that the number of favorable ratings for the NFL dropped significantly among the NFL’s core fan base, the Washington Examiner reported.

Only 42 percent of men from ages 34-54 had a favorable opinion of the NFL during September, a 31-point decrease from the 73 percent who responded to the August poll.

The survey also noted that football has the highest unfavorable rating out of all major sports mentioned in the survey.

    Everybody hates football now. :Roflmao

I saw countless people talking about how they were going to boycott the NFL on my Facebook feed. Of course 9 out of 10 never watched it in the first place but hey...let me virtue signal to everybody anyway. I'm sure the poll is the same way.

NFL games have too much passing, too many video reviews, and too many commercials. My interest in football has been waning for several years. I preferred football when I was a kid and a score like 45-41 was unusual instead of commonplace in college and pro football. In my retirement years I prefer horse racing, soccer, and baseball.

I find the NFL boring because the fail to pass very much. Far too much running. College football is much more enjoyable.

When did you quit watching this running game dominated NFL? 1975?

Should be around 1980 with the advent of the 49ers west coast offense.

I used to follow the NY Giants closely, but not anymore. I am more of a baseball fan (Mets). I do not feel a sense of loss if the NFL's ratings tank. But baseball? That is different. It will cost me a lot of enjoyment if MLB goes the way of the NFL. My memories of baseball go back to my grandfather's love for the game. He passed that love on to me. But if MLB players start taking knees en masse, it is over for me.

Baseball has their own problems--games are too long, quality of play is degenerating, the leagues mess around with the game by juicing the ball, blacks are under represented--but thankfully the game still respects the flag and I do like it when they sing "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch on weekends. Unless I've missed it, so far only one MLB player has taken a knee and that only happened once.

Are you accusing MLB of racism? If so NFL is racist against whites. Same with NBA.

Prices are out of my league. I'm only a passing football fan (pun intended), but my son was asking about seeing a Panthers game. When I figure out it'll cost over 600 bucks to take the family...nope, won't do it.

Makes one wonder on what criteria "under represented" is based on???

Yes, priorities. Gotta beat up those liberals.

    Repeal and replace Obamacare?
    Infrastructure?
    Tax reform?
    Immigration reform?
    Build up the military?

He'll get to it.... but first he's gotta take down Bob Corker, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, late night talk show hosts, then feminists, then left wing movie directors, then liberal PACs...

I wrote this before I read this morning that Trump is going to make an announcement on immigration reform today.

Yeah, I'm a liberal. Sheesh, haven't ya got anything else besides that tired old insult?

Anyway, in 1975 the percent of African-Americans in major league baseball was 27%. This was the highest percentage ever, and was significantly higher than population demographics. Through the 1990's the percent held steady in the high teens, then started dropping in the 2000's. In 2017, the percent of African-Americans in MLB is 8.5%. This is the lowest percentage ever, and, as a percentage, about one-half of population demographics.

I do not think MLB has discriminated against blacks. I don't think MLB is racist (can't believe I have to type this, but there ya go...)
