Don't agree? Prove it! Don't just compare translations. Show me where it is inferior to the KJV either textually (this will never happen) or in its translation.

isn't the NKJV based upon same greek/hebrew texts as the Kjv is, and the margins in it give varients and readings at times also from CT/MT texts?

So really kjv made current, with textual info on other greek texts available to translate off from?

The NKJV is superior to the KJV in some ways and is inferior in some ways.

It is superior in the updating of archaic words, grammar, and syntax and with greater consistency in how it translates ketiv/qere pairs.

It is inferior in the generalizing personal pronouns and in how they translated the present passive participle (slavishly correct but when translated exactly into English it gives a false understanding). The very first thing I learned, 40 years ago, in bonehead Greek 101 was the non-temporal nature of Greek participles.

But other than that it is an excellent modern English translation that is very true (sometimes too true) to its underlying texts.

    :)

Rather difficult to prove beyond doubt that the NKJV is not the purest version based on the TR. However, the WEB is vastly more pure if we start with the Byzantine Text type. The WEB does not contain many of the well know corruptions of the TR.

Now it is possible to find single verses that are superior in the KJV when compared with the NKJV, but the vast majority of superior verses stack up on the other side.

You have to define WHICH Kjv version first though!

And what about the "new Kjv" coming out by Charisma publishing now?
