Sort of a busy day here. Split a week's wood and brought it indoors; took and picked up Buddy from veterinary's...spayed....by the time I ate and had required kips, my day was complete. Oh well......................

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hurrah for Buddy Jim! I'm a staunch believer in spaying and neutering. It really breaks my heart to hear of animals being put down. My Nick wants to go and adopt all the cats at the shelter.

I don't have any, but I love cats too!, Nick sounds like a kid I'd really like.

He's a GREAT kid, Turp! Since he's been raised by older people, he gets along well with adults and kids. He's got a very tender heart too.

Well, I love cats, and any kid who loves cats is ok in my book too.

I have 5 grandsons, and they all like cats, too.

I go to a doggie site and there my signature is "All creatures great and small the Lord God made them all." I guess that is where I stand on animals in general.

I am not overly fond of cats, but would never harm them, and yes, we do have 5 cats in our house, just to entertain the 7 dogs. It is like at home exercise equipment...smile.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Roger,

The election is over, you won. You don't have to pretend you like cats anymore.

Does anyone else have pets that seem to go on forever? Our outside dogs are 16 & 17 years old and still going strong, and our cat is preparing for his 20th birthday! Don't get me wrong, I love my pets, but I didn't realize that when we adopted a kitten in 1985 that it'd be a life time commitment! None of them can see or hear very well, and arthritis has slowed them down some, but they're still perking along.

Our first group of cats (4) lived to be 14 to 16 years of age.

If the current group (6) live as long - we've got another 10 years or so to put up with them.

Dog ages vary by breed. For example, the life expectancy of a Great Dane is somewhere between 8-10 years. Our Great Dane is already 12, very healthy and active. The Beagles have lived about 15 years. We currently have 7 dogs in all age ranges.

Our cats, sadly, have a shorter life span because they do go outdoors...they will scratch at screens to get out and one even scraped drywall off at the door to get out..and we have Fishers in the area. We did have a cat that died a natural death at 15. We currently have 5 cats running around the dogs in the house...they only go out for an hour or so at a time.

    Cheers,

    Jim
