The Palestinian ‘Genocide’ Lie

I think it's interesting to note that Israel is giving the Palestinians 5 hours tomorrow to be able to go out and get provisions and supplies. It's a humanitarian cease fire. I wonder if the Palestinians will honor it?

How Israel Helped to Spawn Hamas

By ANDREW HIGGINS
Moshav Tekuma, Israel

Surveying the wreckage of a neighbor's bungalow hit by a Palestinian rocket, retired Israeli official Avner Cohen traces the missile's trajectory back to an "enormous, stupid mistake" made 30 years ago.

"Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant group that is sworn to Israel's destruction.

Ah interventionism. Isn't it lovely? One day they are allies the next they are enemies.

Good question.

It always amuses me that the word Palestine that ancient Rome used to rename Israel is merely the Latin version of Philistia.

Apparently the Palestinians couldn't honor it:

At least three mortar shells were fired from Gaza during the cease-fire, and the Israeli military said a soldier was injured by an explosion during an "operational activity" near southern Gaza. Troops responded with mortar fire, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Despite those incidents, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said both sides had "mostly respected" the cease-fire.

"The pause shows that a cessation of hostilities is possible if all the parties demonstrate the necessary will and put the interests of civilians, who have borne the brunt of this escalation, first," Ban said in a statement.

"The pause"? What pause? They launched at least 3 mortar shells. :BangHead:

It is a nice public relations ploy. However consider how small Gaza is, 131 square miles, 25 miles long and 3.7 to 7.5 miles wide with a population of 1.8 million. This means that most of those folk have nowhere to go. They are stuck in place.

So they spent their time shooting instead.

How many deaths there are in Israel is irrelevant. Hamas is bombing Israel with no justification. If they want Israel to stop they need to stop bombing. Period.

There is no moral equvilance between Israel and Hamas.

Are you advocating that all Palestinians be killed?

Stretching it a bit, eh?

Just curious. Seems Rev does not consider Palestinian lives of any value. One Israels soldier versus hundreds of civilians, many of whom are women and children make no impression on him. So, as I said, just curious.

And, as I said, it is ironic that the one Israeli killed was by "friendly fire".

Apparently the Palestinians couldn't honor it:

It is apparent that many posters here see no distinction between Palestinians and Hamas. Hamas attacked Israel. Israel, however, is killing dozens of Palestinians (that is, people who have nothing to do with the attack aside from unfortunate geography).

Palestinians are not one undifferentiated borglike mass of people. They are individuals, just like Americans are individuals.

But, of course, those who we are determined to hate we must first dehumanize.

But let's look at real facts:

Human shields. Warnings by Israel to get out of the area before they bomb. The Iron Dome and Israel's amazing defense system.
