Then if that is true, she will choose to abort her baby whether or not it is legal. As a society, we have no obligation and are morally wrong to provide a safe and legal means for her to make that choice.

I am disturbed that you will not give a direct affirmative answer to my original request that you will agree in prayer with me for this bill to get to the floor for a vote.

    Oh, really?

You have completely (perhaps purposely) misrepresented what I have written.
Go back and read what I wrote. I SPECIFICALLY stated that the GOP controlled all three branches of government. Of the current Justices on the Supreme Court, the overwhelming majority of them have been appointed by a GOP President. In fact, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was recommended to then-President Clinton by Senator Orrin Hatch.

Despite all the promises, all the claims of being the pro-life party, the GOP hasn't done anything to turn back the clock with respect to the decision handed down in Roe v. Wade. That is a fact. A case could be brought before the SCOTUS to reverse the decision, and the liberal Justices on the bench could not stop it. Yet, despite this, nothing has been done.

Shouldn't the pro-life hold these candidates accountable for their promises?

Yet, exactly who is the member of Congress who introduced this? None other than the true Maverick, Ron Paul. Who are the co-sponsors? Garrett of New Jersey and Bartlett of Maryland.

Where are all the tough-talking Congressmen who extol the sanctity of life?

By the way, an interesting point about this bill is that "human life shall be deemed to exist from conception." I wonder if this will be used as a proverbial jumping point to go after birth control should abortion be outlawed.

Either way, the GOP will not do anything - they will simply talk about it until the election.

This is where I disagree. This has nothing to do with an "obligation." And if you are saying that she has to make the choice, would you rather that the choice involve the way it was done before Roe v. Wade?

Sure, I will gladly pray with you that this bill will get to the floor for a vote. But you and I both know it won't.

    Regards,
    BiR

Thank you very much for your kind words. The past few weeks have been absolutely dreadful as I have watched so much net worth get vaporized in this literal freefall in the financial markets. I am fortunate to have moved to cash in my own accounts before the big fall, but many people were not so lucky. I trust that you and yours are doing well.

Thank you for this abject fatuity, Chessic. To usurp an old phrase from Al Franken, your post says more about you than it does about me. Amazing that a fellow Believer would bring up the subject of idolatry and interject it into the discussion. I have had a bad week, and I laughed out loud when I read your comments. Thanks for taking the time though.

    Regards to both of you,
    BiR
