I wish I knew more of what caused this young mother to shoot her preacher/husband in the back. I think there will be some major suprises when all the info surfaces. I live in West TN and this happened about 45 minutes to the south of me....big news here.

you should've copied and pasted the url for the newspage itself, bro.
couldn't find it anymore. unless they archived it. if they did, Jackson must be a pretty fast-paced town.

I find it amazing that today, when we know so much about almost everything, that we've heard so little about this.

When this first happened in March, it received international news. But, since March they have kept it very hush hush. I know that the computers in the parsonage and their home have been taken by the police. But, they are being very tight-lipped about all of it.
Most people here are suspecting some sort of abuse involved???????

The children are staying with his parents right now. His father is a retired COC pastor. Funds are exceedingly tight according to an attorney on a talk show. If anyone would like to contribute to food, clothing, emotional care, etc for these children - you can get the details here:

It is odd how hush hush they are being about it! My husband and I went to Selmer toward the end of May and we stayed there for five days. We even drove past the church that Winkler pastored. It's a very small town where everyone knows everyone else. We were there helping a church do a restart by knocking on every door in town. So, naturally we talked to a lot of people in the town. Not one word on the topic ever came up...even with the people who lived within a block of the church.

BTW - with all the door knocking efforts we saw several receive Christ that week! Praise the Lord!

Seems to me if it was some sort of abuse that she suffered, the media would be having a great time letting the world know about what a bad Christian that pastor was. I have not read a news story yet that did not delight in letting everyone know of a Christian's sins.

You're right...the media has a field day with any sort of abuse. As I indicated, people that live in this area are just guessing, but no one knows anything. They are being so hush hush about everything that no one knows a single bit of info other than what is in the paper or on the news. It's been this way from the beginning of this murder.
His father is a COC minister and all 3 girls are with the paternal in-laws. The wife, accused murderer, just received her first messages from her daughters via mail this week. They sent her drawings. Selmer, where this happened, is about 45 minutes to the south of me and is very small...close knit. No one is saying a word. I'll try to keep infomation coming as things come to light in the Winker case. It's all quite sad no matter what occurred. The girls are without their mother and father now.:tear:

This case has been sooo publicized that it is going to be hard to find an impartial jury. Harder yet to find one in the area in which the crime was committed. Tough case.

An impartial jury in West Tennessee over the murder of a COC preacher will be very hard to find. I just wonder what on earth was going through her mind.
