The Psychological Manipulation of the "Invitation" (Washer)

    It's not so much the invitatioin, but the corruption of the invitation that gives me problems.

    The rationale for it is that it is a confession before men that Jesus spoke about.

    The confession before men is their baptism.

    I know too many folks whose sole hope of heaven is "I prayed the prayer."

    Many 'pray the prayer' with their lips and have no trust in Christ, no repentance toward God in their hearts.

    Many go forward to impress friends or relatives. Many go forward because 'so and so is doing it'.
    Many go forward with no desire at all to live for Christ.
