    What are the three groups Army ranks are broken down into?
    enlisted, specialists, commissioned officers
    junior enlisted, noncommissioned officers (NCOs) and senior NCOs
    wings, groups and squadrons


    Sorry, I had to quit after the 2nd question. That one doesn't make any sense.

    Got almost half way through, scoring 12/18. After 10 I starting going down hill.

    It was wrong, BTW, that commissioned officers have BA degrees while NCO's don't. I know many NCO's with Masters and even one Col. who came back in as an E-4 just to get more time towards retirement (he would retire at the highest rank he held and got to add a few more years to his pay).

    Some questions are ambiguous and some are really dumb.

    Marine Master Gunny and Sgt. Major. The Sgt. Major outranks the Master Gunny but they are the same pay grade.

    What is the difference between a commissioned and noncommissioned officer? His commission. Many commissioned officers have no more formal education than enlisted men. Warrant Officers, for example, after reaching CW2 are considered a commissioned officer but usually has no more formal education than a WO1. And many mustangs lack college degrees.

    And then you have the Navy's Limited Duty Officer program.

    Lots of exceptions.

    There is a difference between rank and pay grade -
    Pay grade simply means you get paid the same (withing the same pay grade)
    Rank refers more to responsibility.
    For example - in the Army - a Sp4 is not a NCO, but a Corporal (also an E-4) is a NCO.

    In fact, back in the days of multiple Sp ranks - technically a Staff Sgt (E-6) outrank a Sp7.
