    Beyond the Headlines

"Ever since he was a young man, he and his wife have taken in foster kids. Not just little kids — older kids — sometimes what others call 'dangerous kids.' He gives them a good home and good opportunities and, for many, they go on to form a good life.

He did the same for harassed Jewish families during the height of the Soviet Union. Some he helped secret out. He forced a Republican president to talk about them, save them and ultimately free them.

At one point, this born-again Christian even helped arrange a Passover Seder for a Jewish family that had never had the privilege.

He's helped minority-owned businesses cut through red tape and have a fighting chance and helped others get the government off their back so they could get on their feet.

He gives a lot to charity, but tells those charities not to say a word about who's the one giving.

He comes from a party that many say is all about the rich, but most of the time he devotes himself to helping the poorest of the poor.

He's given unwed mothers a chance and those from broken homes a hope.

You might know him. His name is Tom DeLay."

    Joseph,

Perhaps you have forgotten this, so I will once again remind you that I am a Republican. Please show me where I ever expressed a "hatred" for Tom Delay. Otherwise, please stop this foolishness.

    Regards anyway,
    BiR

I could claim to be a democrat and dump on Clinton. What would that prove!

I heard Neal Cavuto present this on his evening business show. He always has a great commentary.

Liberals and RINOS (Republican in name only) are attempting to destroy Delay just as the do any conservative, especially one who professes to have been born again. They will use any tactic, stoop to any lowdown level, slander, libel, nothing is too evil for them to attempt in their vicious war against Conservatives and Christians.

Since you're into your usual slash and burn tactics, APAL, please tell us:

    - how many children have you fostered?

    - how many Jewish families have you assisted?

    - how many unwed mothers have you helped?

For the simple minded may I say that Cavuto made his remarks on May 16, 2005. CAFTA was passed in the last couple weeks.

APAL, just for the record, he has had charges brought against him. There have been no findings of serious ethics violations. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Or is it enough to just accuse a Christian Republican? I seem to recall a Democrat Speaker of the House saying at one time "There is absolutely nothing to substantiate the charges against Pres. Regan, that is why we need to conduct intensive investigations". (Probably not an exact quote but close.)

Bullied? Gasp!!! I am shocked that politicians actually play politics. What next?

So, unless the one being charged is a Liberal (read Democrat) then he/she is automatically asumed to be guilty, even if no proof has been presented. However, for Democrats, no charge is serious enough to cause any problems. Can you say adultery or perjury?

Charges only, no violations as of yet.

Ever notice how so many Congressmen and Congresswomen have been scrambling to rework their travel records? Except who?

    Tom DeLay

    Nothing to rework.
