Maybe the thing to do is sit this one out, let the Democrats have the white house, try to keep them in check in the House and Senate and hope that a true conservative will emerge the next time around.

Thank you for posting that story about McCain. I did not know that. He was borderline before learning this.

I agree completely with your statement about 1972. That was the first year I voted, and it was for Nixon. Even he beats the crop this year. The only other time I had a time deciding was 1976, when I voted for Carter over Ford, which turned out to be a mistake. In 1980, I voted for Reagan.
