    The story goes that Baron Von Rothchild was a major investor in the British stock and had an extensive communications. When Napoleon was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo by the Duke of Wellington in 1815, he found out first and immediately SOLD all his stocks. That caused the market to crash and Rothchild came back to buy for pennies on the dollar.
