I truly hope you are right & I am wrong. Maybe my emotions got the best of me. We'll see. Peace back! Praying here too!

    From the Internet:

So it appears your definition of "nation" is incomplete.

So, are we to take it that you would have no problem with Jeremiah Wright as the Secretary of State? Seems you condone what he said.

It's good to remember that God used many unbelievers in the Bible to bring about His purposes, such as Cyrus.

(I am not saying necessarily that Obama is an unbeliever since he professes Christ but that is another topic. Start a thread if you want that discussion).

My point is that God can use anyone. So since Obama is our President, we are to heed scripture and pray for him and other leaders, live our lives for Christ, trust God, and pray.

Anyone who ties politics to Christianity isn't practicing what my Savior came to bring to a lost world. They should look to their own faith because it is not Biblical.

Don't be so dramatic! There are far worse things that have happened in our country then Obama being elected president. This election will be followed by another one if the Lord tarries.

You mean we should leave our Christianity behind when we are involved in politics??? Man, that's what is wrong with the world today!!!

So you are advocating that we act as Christians in church, but leave what we believe behind when we are voting?

Doesn't sound like something Jesus would like us to do...

It would appear that you didn't answer my original question.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that the church in America has been badly damaged by linking itself to one political party. Why would lost people want to visit a "Republican Club" which claims that Democrats cannot be Christians? The Church should indeed speak out on moral issues and Christians should apply their Christian beliefs and principles when involved in politics just as they should in anything else in life.

Even patriotism should be subordinated to Christianity. Sometimes our nation makes mistakes just like any other nation. Above all, Christians should always remember Christ's command to love our neighbors. Mean-spiritedness and hatred arising from political differences have no place in the church.

Seems you've jumped to a conclusion, and you've already determined what I meant. It might be easier for you at this point if you just conducted this conversation by yourself, and just fill in the blanks with your assumptions of what I mean.

Nope. It means we should leave our politics behind when we practice our faith.

    Amen!

    "ungodly ruler" is the key.

While many "Christians" put their Christainity in a box to support a killer of babies and an advocate of unbridled sexual depravity, we will all have to pay the price in the here and now.

But we will answer to God individually for our perfidy.

Not the ultimate saddest, but one of the most sad for the direction of the nation.

I'll repeat a scripture I used in another thread..just think as this nation got what it asked for (Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc).

Of course, the Bush bashers jumped on that other thread to try to specifically apply it to him (don't get me wrong, I'm not a big Bush fan by any means), but I'm definitely not looking forward to the socialist, heavy-handed rule we are about to endure under the Marxist who was just elected.

You think the right-wing neo-conservatives were intrusive..wait till these new Marxists start digging their teeth into us.

I did my part in voting for McCain (not a Marxist). McCain is not my first choice, but with no viable third party, a non-vote for McCain would have been a vote for the Marxist Obama.

Oh well, Rome was evil back in the day, and my faith is in God, no matter who's in charge of the government I live under.

    1 Samuel 8:10-18 (NET)
    However, lest we forget:

    2 Chronicles 7:14
Or are some here saying that since that was an old testament verse specifically for Israel that we have no expectation of blessing for our land today if we humble ourselves, pray, repent, and seek to please the Lord ?

Actually, I was trying to show how ridiculous the statement was that I was replying to. But of course on this board we've seen president -Elect Obama as:

    1) The Anti-Christ

    2) A Marxist

    3) The Fuhrer

    4) A Socialist.

    5) A Muslim

I'm sure there are many more but I just can't remember them all. Isn't this a little bit extreme? I've never seen Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler, Judas or even the Devil himself described here in such an extraordinarily negative way. Oh well, it's just politics as usual Republican style.

I've seen Bush called every one of those, save Muslim. Typical beam in eye posting from the left.
