As far as I can tell, the only scripture which would lead us to believe the each believer is individually the temple of the Holy Spirit is 1 Cor. 6:19,20. I wonder about that, since the vast majority of New Testament Scriptures point to believers corporately as the temple of the Holy Spirit.

So perhaps 1 Cor. 6 is misunderstood? It uses the plural "bodies" in v. 15 to say believers are "members of Christ", but the singular "body" in verse 19, 20. Are our bodies thus members of the body (Christ's)--which is corporately the temple of the Holy Spirit?

    Donna,

Actually, I don't think indwelling is the issue here. I believe that. A "temple" seems to infer something more than that, i.e. many "living stones" built together.
