Socialism betrays the foundation of this country. It places us in bondage. It robs us of freedom. It makes us slaves to government. And is contrary to biblical principles.

Just curious, did you serve? And, yes I did serve.

I have had ancestors and/or relatives who fought in almost ever way the colonies and later the USA have ever fought in ... and yes I served. I say almost because I am not sure if I had an ancestor and/or in the war with Mexico and the Spanish American or not. I do know I had ancestors and/or relatives in the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, the Black Hawk War, the Civil War, WW I, WW II, Korea and Vietnam. I am not sure about Desert Storm or the current disaster in Iraq.

Obviously, putting on a uniform doesnt necessarily make one a patriot. As is the case with Wright. And in this case with this happy marine. Wanna guess?

Ken, I'm willing to bet a few people are shedding tears over you, as well.

Dragonfly, I disagree. A true patriot would perpetuate the reasons we founded this nation in the first place. The patriots will be the ones who rise up to defeat this socialist trend.

True patriots stand up to tyranny. Period! That simple. Doesn't matter if it comes knocking as socialism, communism, liberalism, conservatism, neoloberalism, neoconservatism, transnationalism, eliteism, or absolutism.

True patriots don't care if a tyrant is dressed as a democrat a republican or anything in between. They stand up to tyranny They don't play favorites cover for and make excuses for the guys on "their team".

True patriots don't rely on military records to prove how patriotic they are. They don't stand on the party platform to prove how patriotic they are. They have no need or desire to wrap themselves in the flag and prance around so everyone will be sure see how patriotic they are. Posers and tyrants do that not patriots. Being progessive doesn't make you a patriot. Being a conservative doesn't make you a patriot. A hitch in the military doesn't automatically make you a patriot as most of you seem to think and for that matter neither do all the medals, honors and war wounds in the world either...if you've been taking orders from tyrants.

True patriots don't worry about what others say or think about them. They'll go to jail, be beaten up, called names made outcasts and spectacles of for being patriots. And they never ever stop and switch faces when the going gets alittle rough.

True patriots stand up to tyranny. Period! End of story. It's just that simple. Why is that so hard to understand?

What's the matter "progressives" all out of whiney cliches? But don't feel bad I would have thought the drapped in the flag conservative "follow the leader or we'll all die" crowd would have something to say too.

Pretty quiet in Bushzarro world tonight.

I agree with Bro Curtis socialists are just wannabe communists and fascists. Ask the Germans and Russians how their own experiments in socialism worked out for them. Ask the Chinese people how they like their totalitarian system. You want to bring that here? To your friends and family? Are you nuts or what???

Communism and facism are polar opposites. Ask people in most of the industrialized world about trading their socialized healthcare for our system. Betcha won't get many takers. Maybe we should disband our socialized military and let each of us defend the nation as we see fit. Maybe that socialized fire department that protects our homes should be replaced by your kids and a garden hose.

    Say what? Polar opposites?

Better get back to yer book learnin kiddo. Fascism is national socialism (like we have here). Communism is international socialism (what they push at the UN).

Polar opposites...right...like democrats and republicans.

Yer soooooo funny sometimes MP.

Almost sounds like you'd rather have the state stealing from me to give to you. Forget about it! If you're that scared of the responsibility of freedom then move to where they get stuff handed to em. And don't forget to "lick the hands which feed you" during your stay there.

Poncho, it is you who is unlearned my friend. Facism is extreme right. Communism (as a political system) is extreme left. Polar opposites with the same result of totalitarianism.

Anyone can complain about the system, but offer no alternatives.

I believe Obama will be a move in the right direction. I don't expect you to agree, you agree with very little here on this board; you just gripe about the current condition and spout conspiracy theories.

MP my very good friend I can tell you need some serious schooling because what you just said is utter nonsense. There's just one major difference between communism and fascism. Communism pushes class hatred. Fasicism pushes race hatred. Underneath it all they are both as collectivist as the day is long.

And, the political spectrum doesn't run from extreme left to extreme right my very confused friend. The political spectrum runs thusly. From 0% government (anarchism) to 100% government (totalitarianism). You say that both communism and fascism are totalitarian, okay I agree but if that's true and we seem to agree that it is then communism and fascism are together at the same end of the political spectrum and holding each others collectivist hand. That doesn't make them opposites at all does it?

Me being the good natured individualist that I am I'm willing to share my salt with you. It may make that crow you're eating right now taste a little better.

Left to right...where'd you learn that garbage anyway, a socialized public school?

You'd best go to bed early and study your history and politics hard my friend elsewise if you try to tangle with me on either I'll show all these good folks just how ignorant you are in both. Offer no alternatives you say? You must have went to the same socialized public school as MP. Let me type in big fonts so maybe you won't miss it this time...mmm kay?

We don't need no stinking "alternatives" you collectivists have given us quite enough "alternatives" already. Your "alternatives" always lead to more government and more coercion and less freedom! Duh!

What we need is to start thinking as individuals and not groups and defend and protect the U.S. constitution form all enemies foreign and domestic (from the likes of the Clintons, Bushes and Obama's and all their transnational elitist cronies) And limit the government instead of expanding it.

And I'm not here to agree I'm here to debate.

I'll stick with my full statement.

Personally, I would far prefer that churches help the poor rather than the government. I haven't seen in my lifetime that they are willing or able to do that. Rather than having thousands of people die of malnutrition or disase in America without ant help I'd rather see the government step in. The so-called conservatives would rather see them die.

If churches can't help all the poor would you support having the government pick up the cost. If you can give me another alternative that is doable and more acceptable I'll retract the last sentence.

OIC, MP my very good friend you're here to agree like the other guy. I figure if you were here to debate you'd at least bring one. This being a debate forum and all.

Got me on that "conspiracy" comment. Good one...how very establishment of you. Seems a bit overused these days but hey all the highly respected and trustworthy politicians and talikng heads say the same thing so the law of the majority rule kicks in and viola. There ya have it. What passes for knowledge these days. "Consesus". How sweet it must be!

You collectivists got it made I tell ya. I mean the right winger collectivists too so don't get all glum and pouty you progressives and start thinking I'm singling you out..."violating your rights" you get from the state or anything .

Still can't believe you didn't know how the political spectrum works though. Seems like kind of a basic thing. From 0% government to 100%. How far along the scale would you say collectivism has gotten us now? And which where is it going if it continues at this rate?

    Serious political questions.

    No pressure.

    Take your time.

    Think about it.

    Get back to me.

Meantime let me share my whine. I believe in sharing. Always have. I'll share what I got with who ever don't. Everybody should. It's good for you and helps others. It's win win. It comes back to you when you least expect it and need it the most. Know what I'm talking about? You do. I know you do.

Optional question. If I'm so inclined as I am to share whatever I got with whoever don't and believe me I know I'm not by any means unique. Most Americans would give a guy the shirt off their back if they they thought he needed it. So why do you want to take my shirt or whatever that I earned away from me so it can be shared among the many ah-hemn "equally"? It get's shared anyways without your help and extra extra governmental agencies coercion and control and at a great amount of savings that could and probably will get shared out of the kindness of hearts and not fear of being "non compliant" why bother at all? You're just in the way.

    Sorry if this is boring.

Been putting in more hours than usual lately. I gotta work hard to pay for all those alternatives and handouts you rightie - leftie collectivists keep wanting the state to coerce out of my devalued and ever shrinking earnings. That aren't taxed equally I might remind you. So much for your "equality" and "fairness".

Well gotta get to bed long day tomorrow millions on welfare and foreign aid are counting on me you know. Can't let them down or I'll go to jail or get sued.

Kind of disappointed tonight really. I actually thought you were going to come back with a debate instead of a cop out MP. Feel kinda let down. Bummer.

Well hey get back to me on those serious politcal questions okay? I won't even resort to my usual whitty and colorful self, well I'll try to supress my urge to act in a non compliant manner. I'm sorta rebellious and non conformist. You progressives can appreciate that right? Well, maybe not anymore. Not since you became PC. i.e. scared out your minds about what everybody else might think and that your wunnerful and loving state will lock you away for "offending" someone.

    Whimps.

Hey cheer up "republicrats" you'll get another war. I promise! Just keep going to the polls and voting. Doesn't matter who ya vote for just vote. Diebold and ES&S will make sure it gets to the correct candidate for ya. Wink wink. Hey and congrats on that victory in Iraq! Way to go! Hubba hubba! Just think it only took what, three administrations 17 years a couple trillion +- dollars to isolate by sanction, bomb a tiny nation from a second world status into less than third world status strangle with no fly zones some more bombing an already destroyed economy and military an all out red white and blue military industrial complex's invetors dream come true invasion and occupation lasting six years, millions more lost and unaccounted for and another admitted three trillion dollars missing from the Pentagon not to mention the thousands of American lives lost or ruined.

Just to defeat a third rate tyrant we put there in first place.

But things are finally calming down!

    Hurrah! Job well done.

What an awesome display of the conservative will put into motion!!! Y'all are establishment sanctioned bonafide patriots now! You kicked butt!

    In closing...

    Let's all sing together now.

    My country tis of thee...

And now special music from our heros.

"Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, bomb , bomb, bomb Iran......."

Let's hear it for John McCain and the Carlyle Group who never met a tyrant they didn't like! True patriots one and all yessiree.
