    President Obama’s instantly infamous “You didn’t build that” speech is a major turning point of the 2012 election not because it was a gaffe but because it was an accurate and concise summary of core progressive fiscal dogma. It was also a political blunder of epic proportions because in his speech Obama unintentionally proved the conservatives’ case for limited government.
    This essay will show you how.
    When Obama implied at the Roanoke, Virginia rally that some businessmen refuse to pay for public works from which they benefit, he presented a thesis which, like a three-legged stool, relies on three assumptions that must all be true for the argument to remain standing:

    1. That the public programs he mentioned in his speech constitute a significant portion of the federal budget;
    2. That business owners don’t already pay far more than their fair share of these expenses; and
    3. That these specific public benefits are a federal issue, rather than a local issue.
    If any of these legs fails, then the whole argument collapses.
    For good measure, we won’t just kick out one, we’ll kick out all three...

    Liberal is very dangerous, and liberal mixed with stupid is the end of a free nation.

    I want to concentrate on leg two. This was mentioned in another thread by me, but is worth repeating. It takes a very special person with the guts, leadership, patience, fortitude, and vision to start a business. Most people starting a business have no instant resouces for start up, so must borrow, ask family for help, and use a lot of imagination. This is not a project for the non risk taker, the faint at heart, or the inpatient person. Mix all of that together, and you come up with the ingredients it takes to fuel an economy based on a free and open marketplace. This is what builds wealth and creates jobs.

    On the other side, we have government. In contrast to the above hard worker with a vision, a politician stole resources from others, ie, the taxpayers and campaign contributers. They never created one job, showed any vision, or helped expand the economy. Not only did they not help, they hinder the small business owners in the first catagory.

    It is the ultimate insult and irony that those who never created a job impose rules on people who do create jobs, and stifle their chances of survival and growth. Lets get this straight, those creating jobs pay taxes to a government that is lead by those who do not know how to lead, and they ultimately use the tax dollars to destroy the very businesses the originally collected the taxes from.

    So, why do we have a high unemployment rate, and why are so many jobs going overseas? The unemployment rate is high because of the policies of this government destroy the chances of a small business in this country succeeding, thus very few if any jobs are created. For businesses already established and profiting, the government burden is so heavy, the owners go overseas to survive. Instead of pointing fingers in campaign ads, Obama and the Congress need to look in the mirror.

    While some government regulation is necessary for safety and the environment, that was done decades ago, yet the regulations have continued to come, to the point that even the bravest soul wants no part of the hassle.

    S/N the above is very true. Not every person has what it takes to be successful in business or even try to start one..

    I think it was Sir Isaac Newton who, when someone mentioned his accomplishments, replied, "I stood on the shoulders of geniuses." Don't expect right wing Baptists to understand this concept.

    Romney quoted Obama; the Obama campaign is now running an add saying that Romney's lying about what obama said.

    What saddens me is that people are going to listen to the lies from the Obama campaign, and take them as truth. Romney is already losing this election because he's on defense. He needs to quit defending, and shout louder and longer about Obama's record.

    Primarily, they'll listen to Obama's attacks on Romney because Romney's rebuttals are not widely published. Intentionally.
