We have 28 million people across Canada, the 2nd largest land mass in the world, and I can't recall Canadians calling the USA barbarous. You might be greatly surprised at what some of us say about the USA.

As in the USA, sometimes our leaders say stupid things, even Mr. Bush banned potato shipments from a province he didn't even know existed,,,,PEI.

We do, however, back the UN and UN actions. There is also a demilitarized zone between Iraq and Kuwait, to which the USA agreed. If they enter a war without UN agreement, they will have to illegally cross this zone. Now who is supporting anarchy?

    Cheers,

    Jim

Sorry, I don't know anything about that. But if they did say that, they don't know what barbrians are, do they? (Unless, of course, they were talking about abortion).
We don't have Euros; at least, not yet. I think it IS all bad. The most important thing is that their laws over-ride ours. That's what being in the EU means. And that's why it's destroying my country. I can't vote out the European Commission (nobody can).
I'm a staunch monarchist - it's traditional, it ain't broke, and it don't need fixing! The best thing about having a constitutional monarch is that she has powers she never uses, but the fact that she has them (under British law, not EU law) means nobody else can have them, thus preventing us from having a dictatorship. As for Charles, well he's an adulterer, and is all in for "multi-faiths". But then, he might be a strong king, which will be good.
    I haven't the foggiest.
I think you're right (in more ways than one!) It's the same here, only our sovereinty is dripping away much faster that yours, due to the EU. However, I totally disagree we those who say it was predicted in the Bible (it's NOT a revived Roman Empire), so therefore I think it will fall apart. (Possibly destoryed by a revived Babylonian Empire? Now I think that's prophecised - and who's in charge of Babylon at the moment?) The UN is a long-term threat.

P.S. Harvest - yes, let's go and conquer France!!! BTW - you're KJVOnly, aren't you? Have you ever noticed how the Bible says that James I was king of France?! (in the dedication). Therefore, to fulfil the BIBLICAL claim of the English Royal Family to the throne of France, let's go get them!

  5. Bart, I didn't know you were not under the euro(interesting). It must be terrible to have the EU over you.
Jim, I may have heard wrong but awhile back I did hear there was alot of anti-American sentiment from Canada. But again I could be wrong I have been before and will be again.

    Harvest;

I think you have a warped sense of humor. War is nothing to joke about and neither is it funny to be running down the French...no matter where you stand on the war issue.

France is made up of individuals just like America. Do you really think this is the place to be attacking people?

I think you might feel more at home in a chat room than on a Baptist Board. It looks like you spend a lot more time digging up jokes than you do praying.

    WWJD?

i think that since i started this thread i have the right to talk about whatever i please as long as i don't break any of the BB rules. i'm sorry that you took what bart and i were saying so seriously.

as far as how much time i spend digging up jokes compared to the time i spend praying, i don't think that is for you to judge. the baptist board is not my prayer closet.

    Bart,
What a lot of people outside the UK don't see is the contribution the Royals make to England (oops, the UK..see how old I am?).

The Queen presently pays more in income taxes than she receives from the country in payments. She also meets the payrolls of other royals.

The Royals attract millions of pounds in tourist monies. Each member of the Royals must choose a charity they will support for their lifetime with both money and time. Charles has done much in the rebuilding of the London he was not alive to see destroyed during WWII. The Royals toured bombed out sites almost daily during that war and comforted us commoners. I have a personal photo of the Queen and the late Princess Margaret changing a lorry tyre in East London. They have made their contribution to society....But they do have quirks,,,,ask any East Londoner, who seems to know just when the Queen uses the loo.

God save the Queen,,I too, am a monarchist.

    Cheers,

    Jim
