Isn't it interesting though, that the mechanisims are being set in place for the rise of the anti-christ?

    Un-thought of in John's time.....Here today..

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus!

If I went in for surgery, and I had a verichip, I wonder if it would help prevent the Doctor from removing the wrong body part?

I am not being sarcastic--why doesn't it meet the criteria?

I don't believe God's Word would trick us. When it says "the mark of the beast" I believe that's just what it means...regardless of what the "Left Behind" series would lead us to believe. I believe it will be first and foremost - a mark.

Remember when we thought the mark was "credit cards?"

However, this may be a step along the way - to pave the way for the mark's acceptance - maybe.

Again, I am not being debative--only interested. Do you think that since the mark is said to go "in" the hand or "in" the forehead (KJV) that that would open the door to a biomed chip?

Perhaps there have been other threads on this topic that I haven't notices??
    Thanks

Are you saying that you would willingly take a Verichip?

csmith, because my secular job (I'm bivocational) is in logistics, I am very familiar with this new technology, as well as other brands of like products. They are quite aware of the fears of people thinking this is "the mark of the beast," and are going to very great lengths to avoid any association with such a purpose.

That being said, however, the technology exists (even today) for it to eventually be used in such a manner that "no one could buy or sell" without it. In that way perhaps, it paves the way...but so do credit/debit cards, and there's no outcry about them.

However, I still say that the mark of the beast will be just that - a mark of loyalty upon the skin.

Now if someone says, "here take this mark, and we'll also put a chip in here" - then I'll be mightily suspicious.

Thanks for the info. I know there are a lot of people who are really "into" end times prophecy and they are "convinced" that the Verichip is going to be the mark of the beast.

IMO, I think when the time comes, most everyone will be clear on what the mark will be.

The mark is said to go "in" the hand or "in" the forehead (KJV). I understand that this will actually be inserted into the fleshy part of the arm. However, as with any new technnology there is an assimilation process. First there is the getting used to phase where alot of folks will refuse it. Later we will become accustomed to it's benefits and most will find it a logical harmless process. Finally when it has been widely accepted it COULD be placed in the hand or forhead for easy scanning as the technology takes over every aspect of finance, health, security, location, etc.

Is this the mark that will be placed in the hand or forehead? Not yet. But I believe it will be. Just a matter of time.

I think we had this discussion a year or two back and a brother contended that the Bible's original text doesn't say or mean "in", but "on", in regards to the mark of the beast. Personally, I think that the King James translators (being linguistically fluent as they were in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English) knew the difference between "in" and "on".

I agree with Soulman's idea that we could be subjected to a conditioning process which will ultimately lead to public acceptance of chips in the hand and forehead.

I don't think people will need conditioned when the time comes. Those who take the mark will do so willingly and gladly.

IMHO, this just another step of technology, like bar codes and chips in your credit cards.

Quoted by CK4: I don't think people will need conditioned when the time comes. Those who take the mark will do so willingly and gladly.

I believe you are right. I don't think the church will be here when the anti-christ is revealed. The world will have been so conditioned to this technology that they will accept it willingly. For most it will just be an extra step as they will already have the chip.

Personally I think the "chip" is a great idea. Imagine being unconscious on the side of the road and one scan giving the EMTs all of your needed medical details, emergency contacts, etc.

CK4, Those are the positive reasons that the chip will be so attractive. Remember how Satan told Eve she could be as God? All positive there, wasn't it?

There is nothing unbiblical about this chip. I remember the same outcry about bar codes.

Of course all modern technology will be used by anti-Christ, that is no reason for us to shun it.

I concede CK4. I do see it as a red flag and the closest thing we now have to implementing the system of the wicked one. I think we are close. Just my opinion.
