    From here:

This is the gang who can't shoot straight.

When McCain said this, they jumped all over it and the economy was better when McCain said it than it is now.

Will Obama show some leadership, fire this person and apologize to the country (particularly since he has been complaining about how bad the economy is for weeks), or will he continue to show the same failed leadership?

Only two months ... the honeymoon is not even over, we are just barely halfway to the 100 day mark, and this is a comedy of errors in the WH.

Everything out of this White House is nonsensical. They are in way over their heads and it shows.

Now we shall hear from our very own resident democratic hacks. But before y'all start with your rhetoric you might want to turn off the head lights because our President looks like a deer in them.

Send in the clowns! Somehow this seems to fit... with a little editing :)

    Isn't it rich?
    Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
    You in mid-air.
    Send in the clowns.

    Isn't it bliss?
    Don't you approve?
    One who keeps tearing around,
    One who can't move.
    Where are the clowns?
    Send in the clowns.

Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours,
Making my entrance again with my usual flair,
    Sure of my lines,
    No one is there.

    Don't you love farce?
    My fault I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want.
    Sorry, my dear.
    But where are the clowns?
    Quick, send in the clowns.
    Don't bother, they're here.

    Isn't it rich?
    Isn't it queer,
    Losing my timing this early
    In my career?
    And where are the clowns?
    There ought to be clowns.
    Well, maybe next year.

I saw this last night on meet the press. She tried her best to avoid direct answers but you can tell she is no seasoned vet to live interrogations. I likewise saw Eric Cantor who equally danced around the issues and never directly answered the questions. I won't try and defend her since I have no idea what she was talking about except when she said she put the numbers together for the president and she stands behind them.

The appearance of the economy clearly depends on where you stand. Capitalism, the American worker etc... are strong and fundamentally sound. However, our financial system to include lending institutions and walstreet are very much in a mess. So when I hear these statements I have to listen to see what part their talking about.

Yes, you explained this in another thread...

To Obama the economy is really bad when he wants a trillion dollars for pet projects and political rewards...

...and not so bad once you get the money.

I found a great song that should become Obama's White House Theme Music. Listen to it here.

Yep, that about sizes it up don't you think. I don't dispute being president is a sales job. Bush sold WMD and Obama is making the most of this crises.

Here is the difference from where I stand, the crises is real because we see half a million people loosing their job each month. 30K thousand people turned out for 40 part time sales position at a local Kohl's. We don't need the president to tell us the economy is bad, we are living it. However, you and I both know his stimulus plan has no chance of working if he continues to remind us how bad things are. So now he is giving us hope for the brighter day by speaking from the other view point. However, we know the financial system is tanked...

    More dishonest spin.

More like, "Bush continued the policies of the previous administration".

The President would not need to be a salesman if he simply told the truth.

Instead of loading up the "stimulus" bill with a lot of unnecessary spending for pet projects he could have worked to see that money was provided and then efficiently used to actually stimulate the economy. He would not have had to sell a gloom and doom version of the economy - he could have been direct and honest.

If he had followed that course it would then not be necessary to now sell a pie in the sky rosey picture of the economy because there would have been a possibilty of the economy actually improving.

BTW - I find it interesting that you don't feel that your church should be handing out money to the down and out because it might be abused but you have no problem with the government handing out billions and billions of dollars. Could the difference in attitude have to do with whose money is being given away? It seems that when it's other people's money you are quite generous.

Obama has shown tremendous leadership in spite of the crisis he inherited from the previous administration.

That is next to impossible to do with the right twisting every word that proceeds from his mouth. If everyone would tell the truth this would be effective which is why I believe in truth in broadcasting.

The help I advocate the government give is not welfare. They are increasing the unemployment benefits which is not for druggies, it is for people who unfortunately found themselves in a bad position. They are also extending food stamps and hopefully health care for these same people.

The answer you refer to was about knowing a person is a drug attic and not to the down and out as you say. Another good twist from the right to take statements our of context. Keep it up, you need the practice.

Twisting his words ? This from the guy who keeps saying "Bush sold us WMD".

Actually, you believe in government control of broadcasting. Be honest.

I believe in honesty in broadcasting. I believe broadcasters should be held accountable to not broadcast things they know are not true.

And Bush was the WMD salesman.

Bush took the package from Gore & Clinton. A lot of other dems before he came along, as well. But I know you will never be honest about that.

And since you cannot be honest, I shudder to think of what you will support in the way of "honest" reporting. Good thing freedom of speech is guaranteed.

I can't think of any area where he has shown much leadership, much less tremendous leadership. Do you have one?

The right would twist his words if Obama told the truth - so Obama twists the truth instead? And this makes sense to you?

You advocate truth in broadcasting - but not truth in Presidents?

But you are fine with handing out federal tax dollars to people who LIED on their mortgage applications - are you not? The addiction of choice for those people seems to be having what they think that everyone else has whether they can actually pay for it or not.

And what evidence do you have the recipients of food stamps and other welfare type handouts such as the tax credits for those who pay no taxes does not go to drug addicts too?
