    I really like the New Living Translations rendition of Psalm 73, verse 7.
    Although it’s rather loose and free, I think it best communicates the meaning of the verse.

    For I envied the proud
    when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.

    They seem to live such painless lives;
    their bodies are so healthy and strong.

    They don’t have troubles like other people;
    they’re not plagued with problems like everyone else.

    They wear pride like a jeweled necklace
    and clothe themselves with cruelty.

    These fat cats have everything
    their hearts could ever wish for!

    They scoff and speak only evil;
    in their pride they seek to crush others.

    They boast against the very heavens,
    and their words strut throughout the earth.

    Psalm 73:3-9 NLT

    Their eyes swell out through fatness;
    their hearts overflow with follies.
    Psalm 73:7 ESV

    Their eyes bulge out from fatness;
    the imaginations of their hearts run wild.
    Psalm 73:7 HCSB

    Their eyes stand out with fatness:
    They have more than heart could wish.
    Psalm 73:7 AV 1873

    I'm in agreement with you Rob . The NLTse is on a surge ! I love the translation . You who do not own it need to buy it posthaste ! ( You KJV'ers ought to buy one . Keep it a secret for a little while -- then when the time is right come on over to the camp of clear , understandable English which is faithful to the original .)
