This week I've learned(make that re-affirmed) that I can count on my BB family for prayer, encouragement, and laughter in dark times. Thank God for family.

Isn't the BB a great place... we have some differences but that is what makes it special... and even when we disagree, when something happens to one of us, we can depend on everyone to hold us up in prayer and support.

I thank God for the BB.

BB is quite diverse in beliefs. I've learned much since I've joined and it has caused me to go back and reread scriptures....which is a great thing! The BB is a learning process....sometimes we agree..sometimes we disagree. And there are times I've said, "I agree to disagree and walk away....."
But, it's all good. We hold each up on prayer...and we are there for one another across the miles. I believe God is smiling upon this.

Well, I guess you all are referring to me. I know tiny tim said he quoted me here.
He said this is a debate forum. I happened to go to the Fellowship forums the other day and got stuck debating instead of fellowshipping because of the key words "Sinner's Prayer" and "Roman Road", and somebody got so upset and made me upset and the rest is BB history.
This don't seem to me like a debate forum. Kinda more like the Fellowship Forum where you talk about things while sipping a cup of coffee, or in my case a bottle of V8 which raised my blood sugar and made me fail my physical yesterday.
So, here's what I learned from the BB (sip from cup of green tea now):

    1. I learned that Jesus Christ is not yet really Savior;
    2. I learned that for Him to really, really be somebody's Savior, that somebody MUST first repent, then accept Him as Savior. Kinda like putting the stamp of approval on His credentials, you know what I mean ?
    3. I learned that "making disciples of all men" includes getting them saved. Can't make disciples unless they're saved first, right ? But, who's gonna do that?
    4. I learned that the word "world" in the Bible, everytime it is used, means all the entire world, North, East, South, West, and all points therein. This tells me that the Jews knew there was a North Pole and a South Pole, that East included Southeast Asia and the archipelagoes there and beyond, the West included the "new world" which at that time, of course, was "undiscovered" and the Indians therein, who already heard about Jesus' death and resurrection, and therefore was 'overturned' as much as the Jews in Greece and the Roman Empire.

    There you go.

I learned in the other "Christian" denominations thread that there is no Trinity. That there is God the Father and Jesus, but the Holy Spirit is just the Spirit of the Father not the third person of the Trinity.

I also learned that there seems to be a wide view of what a Christian is. The denial of the Trinity is heresy and sets one outside the scope of the Christian Church. So apparently in the other "Christian" denomination thread one doesnt need to be a genuine Christian to post their poison.

I have learned that to some, the KJV translators were infallible, even above and beyond the original languages, except when the KJV translators contradict what that someone wants to believe.

I just learned something on BB:

Someone thinks God's word is limited to what the Jews knew when they wrote it. I have a couple of verses for that person.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

I already knew this, but was reminded of it reading the thread.

I love you guys! :love2: I love our diversity, I love the challenges, I love the stuff I learn, I love the diggin' I've done because I just knew something I read wasn't quite kosher. And there are are so many of you that I consider friends -- precious brothers and sisters in Christ.

I'll be the first to admit that sometimes God uses something that I at first thought was silly or ridiculous to teach me a lesson -- not necessarily to change my thoughts on the subject -- but a lesson none-the-less.

I learned the Rick Warren is not a Christian, and more dangerous than Benny Hinn and Pat Roberttson.

I learned Amy Grant is more dangerous then the rock band AC/DC because she is Christian.

I am told we should not wear her T-shirt.

Oh man the Amy Grant T shirt is my favorite :love2: .

I don't understand how Calvinism reconciles with the Great Commission.

Tim I played trombone and baritone in band. At least trombones are reasonably priced.

What part of the Great Commission do you think we have a problem with?

Well if God has already pre-destined who is to go to heaven, then what is the point of following the Great Commission?

Aubre, because God uses every day people like you and me to get his message out to the lost and dieing world. Could God use other ways? Of course. He could start writing in the clouds, or just starting singling people out and sending visions upon them, kind of like Constantine, but God has chosen to work through us.. Its quite a priviledge really! :)
    Romans 10: 12-15
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Although I believe in God's sovreignty, that does not give me the right to just sit back and relax while people are going to hell.

    God Bless,
    Andy

I've learned (sadly) that even though people can come together under one common banner, given enough time, they will find reasons for divisiveness.

Today I learned that the rapture is for unbelievers, while the believers remain here on Earth. Wow.

The point is that God told us to do it.

    Next question?

And the reason He told us to was so others would believe.

How can one believe unless they hear?
