This Is What I have Noticed

Discussion in 'General Baptist Discussions' started by RightFromWrong, Sep 12, 2005.

  1. Dr. Bob is my hero he is sound and well balanced and I love his bow tie, if only I had the courage to sport such a tie, then I too could be sound and well balanced and finally be a true outspoken conservative instead of only holding aspirations.

May God Bless Dr. Bob with many spiritual and temporal blessings for I know a church in Cookeville TN. which received much encouragement toward organization last year because of the love and compassion of Dr. Bob.

Please do not make assessments of people based upon the areas of truth they are burdened to defend. If you do please do not go to the Calvinism/Arminianism forum as you will see in the archives and in some more recent posts my own impassioned defense of what I believe to be Biblical truth.

We each have our idea of what is and is not absolute truth, I admire your stand on what you believe however you must learn that through discussion boards and email lists people are not facing you and do not have liberty to observe your body gestures nor mine and often our words are perceived (honestly and innocently) as being judgmental, arrogant and prideful. The closer a specific topic is to us as truth the more likely we are to become emotional in our defense of it.

Because you seemed to wrongfully assess Dr. Bob I have edited your post; I am now editing all other posts that give the same appearance toward other members.

Please, give your topics time to gain interest among the new posters and measure your words in your opening posts and responses so that you do not scare new members away. Many old members have seen these discussions several times and simply opt to not participate, those who do subsequently opt to discontinue participation when they feel attacked or either move into defense mode. I am no more or no less, often I try to bite my tongue and simply ignore certain posts, at other times I fail in this attempt and find myself indulging in the flesh to enter into argument rather than edifying discussion or debate.

I truly believe you are the kind of person you describe to us in person, however, you say no one knows you on here so for that reason it is ok to become someone else who is or gives the appearance of being intolerant of varying opinions or open disagreements?

You are certainly wise and Scriptural in remaining silent in your church and Bible study meetings, this is not the church, you have every opportunity to post and engage in wonderful blessed discussion and even lively debate, but remember even the best debaters sometimes must learn to take it on the chin.

May God Richly Bless us all to learn more of His Grace and Mercy,
    Bro. Dallas Eaton [IMG]

You said something about people not responding once you proved your point. You are assuming you were right.

Just because you start a thread does not mean you have to go on and on responding to every post. Let the discussion go for awhile and then put in your thoughts. People are going to start skipping over your posts because I've noticed you sometimes repeat what you say a lot.

You should take Dr. Bob's advice posted on this thread. You need to realize a lot of these people have been on the BB a long time and they've seen people come and go. Many of the topics you have posted on have bene discussed before, so it's not like people haven't thought about them. But you sometimes act as though you have the answers and we should listen to you.

It's better to read a lot of posts and get to know people before you start assuming things about them. You haven't been here long enough to really get to know people.

I've been posting here since May of '04 and I've found that I've changed my mind about a lot of people here over time, or at least have seen other sides of them. Some who got on my nerves on 2 or 3 threads I eventually discovered agreed with me in other areas. Some who I thought were pills I discovered to have a sense of humor or compassion. People here are not one-dimensional, and I think sometimes you conclude things about them wrongly after seeing their views on a few posts.

This was all offered in a friendly spirit, so I hope you take it that way. [IMG]

    Good Post, Marcia [IMG]

  7. No I said if someone agrees with you they should voice it on the board.

I have had several people PM me and have agreed with something I have said, but they do not post their agreement on the board.

To me there is something wrong with that.

  8. Marcia If you have noticed I have done that more than once, started a thread then waited. The one on babies was stopped for quit awhile. Then I gave what I thought.

  9. Marcia....Listen I have been warned about certain people through PM's after I myself had problems with them. So I can't be too way off. And yes I have given you and some others the benifit of the doubt and do not have a problem with you. Although I am beginning to think my frist instincts were right.

  10. Marcia looks like I am being judged unfairly since people do not know the real me either.

I opened up ans gave a personal story and I was attacked for it. I should have never done that and I wouldn't have If I knew there were mean people on here. I should have know by now there are mean people everywhere. Neither you or Bapmom stuck up for me when they clearly attacked me, thanks.

Just like I am being attacked now

No one is attacking you, RightfromWrong. You have been given some very wise advice, but apparently you prefer to believe the PM's rather than what was given to you in public.

    Dear Brother Joseph,
Our treasurer is the Paron fire cheif, he and his wife have been instrumental in making arrangements to accomodate the evacuees here at Camp Paron.

Some Church members are or have gone to offer their services as volunteers. I had to be in L.Rock all day until this evening late but I am planning to go by there tomorrow. A Presbyterian preacher and church organizer who lives behind us told my wife this evening they are requesting pastors in the area provide counseling services. Please pray for all these survivors and all of those who do offer assistance in any way.

Also, please pray for the community of Paron. If you need more details, I will pm you. We currently have 67 evacuees and there are more on the way.

May God Bless us to humbly serve Him through serving these people,

    Bro. Dallas Eaton

I remember fondly the community of Paron. When I was kid, we had RA's camp at Paron...and it was very meaningful to me.

May God bless you in your ministry. Perhaps, someday when you are in LR, we could get together and have lunch or something.

  15. Thankful when MORE people are able to give someone " advice" then they are defending Gods word. They are attacking. Where were these people when it came to defending the truth ?

I know an attack when I see one, yes they are doing it in a way to make it look legit but they know exactly what they are doing and so do I. Marcia and you I think are trying to help

I will show this to my husband tomorrow and get his opinion

RightfromWrong, friendly word of advice. Why not just hush up. You are only making a fool of yourself. Your pride is oozing from every post and it is not becoming a believer.

    You're welcome.
</font>[/QUOTE]I think that about sums it up. [IMG]

Just finished looking for some music on JWPepper, and now I am burning a CD for one of my students for All-Region Tryouts (BTW, everyone, I have special permission as an educator from the CD's producer to burn this CD for my students). I will be in bed soon enough. [IMG]

If I were looking for the way to salvation I would leave this board and go to the bar.

I think that would be a very poor place to look for salvation. You would probably have better luck looking in the Bible, or perhaps, speaking with a Christian friend.
