These poor old oil companies. Facts like these make me want to cry on behalf of Exxon Mobile and the other oil companies. I can see why they were only able to give their executives only millions of dollars in salaries and bonuses instead of billions.

I dont care how much CEOs make. They are worth every penny. Good for them. At least they have a real job which is much more than you can say for our leaders in Washington.

I don't wonder, I know. The democrats are determined to institute socialism in this country. It is that simple.

Just recall the picture of Schumer on the news saying: "a little pig here, a little pig there, here a pig, there a pig, and the American people don't care." [A loose paraphrase]

Why do you say poor oil companies? I don't get why people are mad at companies like Exxon when they have done well, made a profit. Isn't that the American dream? Start a company to make money?

I think we might need to nationalize both the banks and the oil companies.

I can see math isn't one of your strong points.

It seems liberals think government money grows on trees. It doesn't come from taxes.

    http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/1178.html

While politicians decry large corporate profits, those profits generate large corporate income-tax payments. We estimate that over the past 25 years, the major domestic oil companies paid about $518 billion in corporate income taxes to Uncle Sam and state governments. Oil companies pay billions more to governments in off-shore royalties, severance taxes, property taxes, and payroll taxes — and the list goes on.

Exxon should move their headquarters out of the U.S. with it's oppressive corporate tax rates.

The cries, moans and screams of liberals would be heard across the country.

It'd be good for a laugh and good for Exxon.

And don't forget that "the oil companies" are actually average citizens that own stock....

Where'd you ever get that idea?

They're all rich, greedy, filthy capitalist pigs.

And don't ever forget it. ;)

Unfortunately, some love the ring in their nose - I guess they feel secure letting "Uncle Sam" yank their chain rather than having to make their own choices.

Last Nov. proved that - methinks!

I suggest we nationalize all the O'bamamites. They could become the nucleus of O'bama's Civilian Security Force.

That is a topic for another thread.. You didn't answer my question. I don't understand some of your thoughts with the oil companies.

Can you help me understand where and why you've drawn your conclusions?

You're mistakenly giving him credit for thinking about it at all.

It was just a typical liberal knee jerk reaction.

    They just can't help themselves.
