    I cannot fault the man for his diplomacy, I suppose. He was diplomatic, if nothing else.

    Maybe he was used by God. I don't know. I do know that God has used "unregenerated" leaders of nations/city states all throughout history to accomplish His decreed purposes.

    Pr 21:1
    ¶ The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

    So, yes, PJPII's heart was directed by God in this sense.

    Maybe he was a good and gracious man in the natural sense, but as I have shown, he was far from correct Biblically.
