Had blood work done this AM. Doc told me to fast for 12 hours prior and only drink water. Got there this morning and the sign said I could have had black coffee. No one was injured, thank God.

So, after stopping to the bank I stopped by a local coffee shop and got a pumpkin spice latte and snickerdoodle muffins for me and the boys. I don't usually do foofoo coffee and rarely go to coffee shops. So this was a bit of a treat.

I did mine yesterday. They were orange and brown. Cheddar cheese is the same color...orange that is. If it's brown, don't eat it.

    Folgers...Black Silk.....is our usual blend.

Having rescued my bride from the South (SC to be exact, though we met and were wed in AL) we always have a large pitcher of sweet tea in the fridge.

I used to work at S&D coffee in Concord N.C. Great coffee and tea. One of the best kept secrets in the coffee world, however, is that the Eight O'clock Columbian coffee rates as well as the so-called premium coffees elsewhere. Can't speak for the other Eight o'clock coffees, but the Columbian is top notch.

Having rescued my wife from Ontario--- Tim Hortons coffee. And what's with sweet tea? It taste like four pounds of sugar and a quart of water with just enough tea to change the color.

Sounds like you've never tasted a tall cold glass of REAL southern sweet tea. There's an art to the process, including how the sugar is added.

"Simple syrup" with a little tea colored water - yuck! A rich deep full body tea with too much sugar - yuck! Not enough sugar in the same tea is yuck, too. Not everyone, including some southerner's can successfully balance that scale. In those cases I'd rather have a hot cup of Earl Grey with a touch of honey or straight without any sugar, at all.

Padre is more "Southern" than he lets on-----he can whistle "Dixie" and probably even knows the Indian name for Baton Rouge---and probably has to fly through Atlanta just like the rest of us have to do when we fly!!!!

I can whistle Dixie while eating saltines. "Oh. I wish I were in the land of cotton...." It's messy but can be done.

Itta Homma, bon homme? Red Stick in any language.

    I don't fly.

I still don't get sweet tea. If you don't like the taste of tea drink something else like an RC Cola. I was going to say Dublin Dr Pepper but they closed the plant down in January.

madre says I am beverage conflicted. I drink my coffee black at home but put in cream and sugar when I store buy it.

Folks, do not be fooled by Padre. A true Southener does not care for ketsup on hamburgers. Padre even puts ketsup in his coffee.
