And your solution is to entertain the carnal nature of the world and embrace the heresies of Tony Campolo? Sorry. But, I don't think God is going to bless that. Follow the narrow road that leads to eternal life.

    If you are going to slander Christians, at least give a reference to back up your claims. </font>
1. I think you assume way too much in the first poart of your statement.

    2. The original post in this thread ought to be proof enough that he is a heretical wolf in sheep's clothing.

    I don't find a discrepancy with this section at all. We all say we want to be more like Christ. I can remember praying in my much younger years to be able to love people with the agape love that Christ felt for people. I don't see that as something not to ask for - the ability to love all mankind and feel what Jesus felt as he went about the work of His Father among the throngs of unsaved people.

    Maybe this too should be a separate topic, but isn't that what TexasSky was saying when she wrote that post in another thread about Christ's words??? I don't want to put words in her mouth regarding Campolo and what he meant when he said that, but I think there is a corelation present.

    Joseph, you have clearly missed the point of what Tony Campolo is saying. Yet that is no doubt because of your own preconcieved ideas about him.

    I would also suggest that you are in no position whatsoever to pass a comment on the Narrow Road that leads to eternal life. Your Narcassitic attitude which constantly leads to bickering and threads being closed on the BB, is no witness of that.

    Ben,

    1. I think I have a pretty good understanding of his heresies which is why I reject his teachings.

    2. Beware of the dark side... [IMG]

    Your hateful side is really showing through. Perhaps, you might want to rethink your attitude.

    "if they are going to bring God's Kingdom on earth". Here is a great topic for another thread.

    If God's Kingdom is in the heart of the individual Christian, God's Kingdom is already here on earth. Kingdom preachers preach about this concept of Christianity.

    Refer to my post on the Suicide rates in Japan post. Go rethink your own attitude.

    </font>
I agree with you that the Kingdom of God has begun on earth already with the ressurection of Christ, yet as I see it, the Kingdom will not be complete on earth until Christ has returned. Maybe that is why the Lords Prayer contains, thy kingdom come?

    Billy,

    In my thinking, anyone who calls for a subjective view of Christ when we have an objective view of Christ in Scripture is a heretic.

    I lost all respect for Tony C way back when He started condoning the homosexual lifestyle. If your going to ask for exact statements I admit I don't have them readily available. He has been drifting towards heresy for 5 or 6 yrs now.
    His views on homosexuality are pretty much common knowledge.
    His doublespeak and borderline practices through the years give me a reason to say I don't trust him. I just chose a blunt way to say it.

    The latest thing Tony C is pushing is experience over Scripture which is always a red flag regarding someones views of doctrine.

    But here is the problem Shannon, can we rely on what we read on the media to be really true about someone? It is all to easy to listen to what someone elses opinion is about someone, yet where are the Primary Documents that prove it?

    In a court it is all about proven beyond reasonable doubt, if an allegation is to aired against another Christian, should not there be reasonable proof in the form of what he has actually said on Homosexuality, not what someone thinks he said?

    Shannon,

    It is therefore, no surprise that he also encourages subjective views of Christ as that makes our view of Christ very much so dependent on our own experience, and subject to carnal feelings and emotions. It is the first step into heresy and being able to recreate Jesus into your own image. This almost sounds like what folks like Borg and Spong attempt to do, just another way of doing the same thing.

    </font>
Ben,

    I agree that if we make an accusation, we should have something to back up that accusation. Of course, Shannon admitted he doesn't have it right off the top of his head. Let's give him some time. Perhaps, he can find a quote or produce something to support what he says about Campolo.

    How about it, Shannon?
