Wow it seems the HCSB has made a big splash several of you guys have said you like it.
The NASB is definetly my study Bible and the ISV is more of an idiomatic translation. I read my "top 5" a lot.

Our Sunday School lessons are in HCSB and the church gave all our S/S teachers a HCSB NT but I use my NKJV both in Sunday School and AWANA unless the parent requests we use KJV or NIV with their child's memory verses. [IMG]

I find the NKJV close enough to the KJV that I'm able to do cross references and searches on memory words.

Hi guys. I use the KJV, NASB, NIV, and sometimes the HCSB. I guess I use the KJV more, cuz my church uses it, and the archaic language of the text helps me to memorize verses. The KJV is the one I grew up with, but my NASB runs a close second. In Christ, WT [IMG]

Thanks for the hug, Granny! I needed that! And thanks for thinking of sending some Gumbo anyway. It's the though that counts. [IMG]

    Which KJV? I have
    three different ones.

BTW, I define "Modern Version" to mean
any version created since the year 1700.
So the KJV 1769 is, by my definition,
    a Modern Version (MV) [IMG]

I use all three from time to time:

KJV1611 - for a taste of Jacobian Times
KJV1769 - cause those Bibles are in
    the electronic editions
KJV1873 - cause it is side by side
in a Parallel Bible with the
    NASB, NIV, and NLT.

    At the moment.
    1 NBG-vertaling of 1951
    2 Willibrord vertaling (1995 update)
    3 Statenbijbel GBS edition
    4 Bible de Jerusalem
    5 Canisius Bijbel

One nice thing about using Bibles that none of the Baptist Board version-onlyists can read is that they mostly have to focus their complaints on other members/Bibleversions.
