    Pulling for Lance.

The TdF is one of the few major sporting event I have ever seen live. It started in Dublin about four years ago.

All the hype and the build up, the advertising ans support vehicles, the colour and pageantry then here came the bikes - uh - there went the bikes ;) .

Alright, a pretty good start to the race. Lance comes in second, only 2 seconds off the lead. Jan and tyler both in the top 15.

Yep, it's gonna be a pretty interesting race this year. Looking forward to every minute!!

    God Bless!!!

The frogs have changed the course and the rules to HELP their man win and HURT Armstrong. Is that not expected?

Points for the individual big events (time trial segments) are reduced. That is where Lance built up his leads. He did not win that many daily events elsewhere.

So I think the deck is stacked. It isn't like a normal "sport" where the rules are static. I knew they changed the course year-by-year, but did not realize the political "wheeling" (pun intended) that they were stooping to this year to make SURE Armstrong didn't win . .

Isn't this in France. It's a good thing that this is a totally boring sport, (even more so than WNBA and MLS). It will make it easier for me to boycott the yawner. Come on, guys. You really watch this stuff from beginning to end and find this interesting? BOOOOOOORING!!!!!!!

Joseph, you don't really want to boycott a sport where an American is going to France and beating their best on their own turf do you? I guess it is pretty funny that wearing yellow is considered an honor at this race in France. [IMG]

Lance Armstrong is proudly wearing the yellow again!

The yellow jersey is the race leader jersy in almost every race. There is one, don't remember which, wear the leader's jersey is the pink jersey.

The pink jersey goes to the leader at the Tour of Italy. And our boy Lance has worn it several times.

Lance Armstrong is one of the forgotten American athletes having overcome cancer to return to be the best racing cylist in the world.

I have not forgotten Lance. I just don't find his sport to be that interesting to watch, and therefore I am reduced to entertaining myself on this thread by making fun of which color jersy I think the sissy French will wear. :D

Armstrong is in position to win. Rather than fighting headwinds and rain, his team sat back and will retake the lead only in the later stages. These are a different breed of men than the normal athletes!

BTW, do you know why the French tdf riders wear spandex?

    Chiffon wrinkles too easily.

A HUGE TdF fan here. I've watched him win for the past three years and haven't missed one second of OLN's coverage until this year. I was on vacation and missed the first five days. :(

Lance will win again unless there is an accident. They say his biggest rival this year of course will be Jan, but I believe Tyler will fool everyone and come in second this time around. He may even win if Lance has problems.

Lance's statement in the prologue was profound. He beat all his nearest rivals with a convicing margin. It doesn't matter that there was one young guy out there that had the ride of his life and beat Lance. It's all a mind-game for the top five and Lance is dominating that game.

How can you say this is not an exciting sport??!! Last year when Lance went down and got back up only to blow everyone else away was almost too much for my heart to take. My wife thought I was nuts when I was jumping up and down screaming at the television.

To really enjoy the sport on television you must ride a bike, or have rode in the past. It's akin to my thinking that NASCAR is about the most boring sport in the world.

I have ridden a bike in the past and there is no way I could justify spending money to go to France to see this event, or for really any other reason, for that matter. Come on man. Do you really sit there and watch the entire race from start to finish? How in the world do you find that interesting? I guess I just don't get it. I mean, maybe if there were a big wreck, it would be interesting. But, outside of that, I just don't get what is interesting about watching a bunch of guys ride their bikes. I know they are great atheletes to do what they do, and I can admire and respect the effort and planning that goes into it. But, to sit there and watch it from beginning to end. I just can't do that without falling asleep. Now, Football, on the other hand can hold my attention from beginning to end, even in back to back games.

Here comes Lance - up in second place now. Barring a fall or injury it should be #6!
