    Joseph,

I'd give the exact same analysis of Nascar. ;)

It is very likely that he will win again, so his critics have once again brought up doping allegations. If he is doping and they can prove it then I agree he should be punished and maybe banned and stripped of his championships. If they cannot prove it, it just sounds like jealousy or just more anti-American hatred.

Did you all see the Greg Lemond interview on ESPN a few days ago? He virtually accused Lance of doping. He also accused Lance of requiring his teammates to dope. I personally dont think that Lance has doped the past few years, but in his drive to overcome the cancer I am not sure.

I read his book, and he came off as a bit of a jerk to me, as well as amoral. Also did not like him dumping his wife. Guess he felt he needed to get younger or more famous at the position.

All the above aside, I have watched parts of several stages, and the strategy used by the SU Postal team to get Lance to the front has been spectacular. When Lance and Basso were finishing one of the sages in the mountains last week, I thought the people lining the roads were going to pull him off his bike! All I could think of was when Monica Seles was stabbed by a lunatic while playing tennis

Okay, i know I'm supposed to be taking a break from the internet, and I'm only here to do a couple of posts, but I had to chime in with some comments here, mainly directed at our dear brother, Joseph... :D :D

Joseph, I don't know if you have seen any of the coverage from the last two days, or maybe you've seen highlights on ESPN, but I think even you, Mr "BOOOOORING, :D " would find the last two days of racing exciting. Look at yesterdays stage (#15 for those of us keeping track) for starters. Jan Ullrich, one of the pre-race favorites, pulls out into a solo break-away, trying to leave Lance in the dust. Only two riders were ahead of him doing their own break-away. But is Lance worried? No way. He pulls his teammates around him, fires up the "Blue Train" and pulls Ullrich back. Then, with less than 500 meters to go, Lance slips to the inside, passes both Jan and Ivan Basso (the second place overall rider) and beats them both with a sprint to the finish.

And then how about todays stage, an individual time trial up the side of a mountain? Lance just demolished the competition. Overtook the rider that started 2 minutes ahead of him, and soundly defeated Ullrich, who, up to that point had the fastest ride of the day. Lance put on a show today, and beat Ullrich's time by 61 seconds.

Anyway, Lance's lead over the second place rider (the aforementioned Ivan Basso) now stands at just under 4 minutes. Barring any freak incidents, Lance will indeed with his 6th straight Tour, becoming the first, and maybe the only, man in history to do so.

    God Bless!!!

    Adam

    YAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!

    :D

Look, I am sure some of you really understand what is so exciting about whatever it is Adam just described,. I just don't get it.

BTW, were there any freak accidents today. Now, that would make it exciting. It is kinda like NASCAR with me. There is really nothing that exciting about it unless there is a wreck.

You would have enjoyed the German fans taunting and spitting on Lance as he barreled past them ;) .

Some people enjoy watching grass grow - paint drying - sitting in a boat in the middle of the lake and not getting even a nibble all day long.

Some enjoy watching bike racing - and I enjoy watching NASCAR.

That said - Lance Armstrong is a excellent athlete - and he is to be admired for his prowess on a bike!

PS - I also enjoy the sport of posting on BB! [IMG]

Somebody has got to pick on the leader. They never accuse the last person of doping or anything else. There are those people who want to bring down the leader. They spend their time being miserable. I feel sorry for people like that because they have to live with themselves.

Lance won the race. I watched the higlights of the end of the race. It was ok. Not really that exciting, but I really do appreciate all the effort that went into it and the historical significance of it.

Was only boring cause Lance had already won before they got to the Eiffel Tower. All he had to do was not fall off his bike [IMG] .

    Great accomplishment.

Joseph, I am shocked that you watched an event from France [IMG] ;) .

Besides, I heard the commentator say something about fears that some French fan would try to sucker punch him on some French sounding mountain, and I thought, oh man, maybe we'll see some action. We could even use this as an excuse to bomb France... :D

But France Joseph, you saw the same Eiffel Tower I had my picture made in front of.

There is a crepe stand on the Seine right at the foot of the tower. Could we meet there for a crepe and cappucino some time?

Sounds expensive to me. I am not a rich Democrat from Massechussetts you know. :D

I would have to what fly me, my wife, and our son to Ireland. How much would that cost me? And then, while there in beautiful Europe, I couldn't even wear any of my patriotic t-shirts. I might get beat up by some drunk Irish man. I don't think I would have to worry about getting beat up in France... ;) (snicker, snicker). I would have to do something about that Jewish nose of mine however.

How much would it cost this public school teacher from Arkansas to fly to Ireland with his wife and son? :D
