    Tragic. Very tragic. I don't think this mother intended to kill these children, but who knows, nowadays. I hope it was just a plain case of stupidity at best, and psychosis, at worst.

    You know, sometimes the cynicism in me just won't stay buried. But, so many people consider children a "penalty", or even a way to get even with an ex-husband/boyfriend.

    If considered a penalty, odds are, the consequences for leaving them in the car will probably be "lighter" than the consequences of paying for them for 18+ years.

    It's like the (not-too-funny) joke: If you want rid of your wife, don't divorce her; get drunk and run over her. The penalty for DUI manslaughter is less than 18 years of putting up with her.
