Wasn't His Son dieing part of the design? You know, before the foundation of the world?

If God is the creator of the heavens and the earth, and he didn't make sin, where did it come from?

God made Lucifer perfect and one day iniquity was "found" in him. Where did it come from?

I was pleased with the content of Mr. Warren's prayer. I was expecting some sort of compromise, but he got up their and prayed in the Name of Jesus! I loved it! What I also found interesting is that Mr. Obama seemed to be more "into" Mr. Warren's prayer than that unrighteous rant given by Joseph E. Lowery. I'm not saying Mr. Obama is an evangelical or anything like that, I am just saying that I found it interesting. Maybe the Lord will use Mr. Warren to bring Mr. Obama around to the side of righteousness? Who knows? Only God does.

"Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, The Lord knows those who are His, and Everyone who names the Name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness" -2Tim 2:19

After I read his The Purpose of Christmas, I knew pastor Warren wasn't gonna compromise.

    Thanks, Bob.

I thought it was clever adding the Lord's Prayer. The one prayer that everyone seems to know and Mr. Warren did attract the crowd with it.

To pray publicly in church is one thing. To offer prayer to such a large public audience of all possible belief systems is almost impossible. He did well and did not falter on truth.

On the other chap, I think you have to appreciate where he comes from. Not even speaking of his religious beliefs. I remember him from Civil Rights days. He was a co-founder of the organization we marched with, and he is 87. Not defending what he said, but, I understand.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Saving this post for future reference. After all, self-righteousness is in the eye of the beholder. Coming from an administrator, I take this as implied permission to call names when condemning behavior that sickens me.

Jesus condemned the self righteous and their self righteousness was not in their eyes.

No, Self righteousness is not in the eye, it is in the heart and unless those with self righteousness replaces self righteousness with the Grace, Love, Mercy, Compassion of Jesus... They will never see the kingdom of God.

What is usually in the eye of a self righteous man is a big ole plank.. they refuse to pull out before addressing others.

No, but its the self-righteous that do not see their own self-righteousness. Thats the problem with it. It blinds the self-righteous to his own problem and the danger in which he is.

In reality every true Christian will recognize that they are naturally self-righteous and flee continually the grace of God.

Ah well that is what happens when you question RW's theology.

When does the Holy Spirit ever come in arrogance and self-righteousness?

Maybe you should spend some time considering that.

    Nope, you're very wrong.

Sin doesn't exist for anything but the result of the depravity of man. man in a depraved state does NOT glorify God! Only his conversion to a child of God glorifies God, not the man being in a depraved state.

I see the most outlandish and plain out GOOFY remarks when some ones' "hero" is exposed.

The prayer was nothing but political mumbo-jumbo.

OK, tell me what I think, please? I'm having a hard time knowing what I think I know that I think.

I'm so sorry you think all evil is synonomously equal in its derivation.

What you need to do so that you'll understand what the passages mean, and so you won't keep espousing a false doctrine and keep misleading others by your contemplations, is define "evil" in the context of each passage. I firmly believ if you will, not only will you find that you have been wrong in your assumptions, but you will see the hand of God working that which is good to all men and for His glory although men view the actions as "evil"
